The existing logistics systems and vehicle tracking devices could only support the checking of transporting path used for goods at fixed time points,and merely targeting for overall positioning tracking and management of vehicles,containers or pallets.The regulation for single items in transit has been rarely implemented.To solve these problems,we developed a vehicle equipment for logistics regulation based on the ARM-Linux.Firstly,we figured out a novel way of the development of logistics monitoring and vehicle equipment by the analysis of recent researches and drawbacks of the current logistics supervision system and the vehicle equipment.Thus we determined the hardware and software architecture of the vehicle equipment needed for logistics regulation.The hardware of the vehicle equipment used the embedded ARM processor as the main host,RFID scan cargo tag module,GPS vehicle positioning module and USB-3G data transmission module as the peripheral module.The software system of the vehicle equipment was the embedded Linux architecture.Next,after a detailed study for the main processor,interface circuits and associated peripheral modules of the logistics monitoring vehicle equipment in this paper,we built a development environment for the embedded Linux system on PC,and transplanted the Bootloader Linux kernel and file system on the vehicle equipment.Furthermore,through the analysis of the overall workflow system program with the vehicle equipments,we designed and implemented the vehicle equipment data receiving program,vehicle device data transmission program,the server-terminal data receiving program and server-terminal data stored program.Finally,I described the vehicle equipment for logistics regulation used in the logistics monitoring system.The results showed that we could track the vehicle location and the real-time monitor goods through the logistics monitoring system.Collectively,the research in this paper realized the real-time supervision of single items in transit.Moreover,the real-time location of each item can be accurately recorded,which could substantially reduce the probability of wrong distribution of goods and effectively avoid goods-fleeing as well as the loss of goods.The new 3G technology was utilized as a data transferring approach,which replaced the conventional GPRS technology.Therefore,data transmission could be stable,secure and the instantaneous.
