Residential area is the most basic living unit in our country,which has obvious spatial boundaries and has a strong sense of domain for residents.Residential indoor and outdoor space and environment constitute the residential area,which is the main residential places,the design of which should consider the whole process of human life,especially the old stage which is the state of individual life impacted much by the living space and the environment,and "the old fitness" status directly affects the lives of the elderly.Therefore the establishment of an assessment system is necessary to evaluate "the old fitness" degree about the elderly residential space and environment.This paper did further study on the problems of performance assessment about "the old fitness" of residential living space and environment through survey and questionnaire to the elderly living in different periods of Zhangjiakou community and based on the achievements of domestic and foreign experts and scholars,relevant industry standards and norms.In order to establish a comprehensive,accurate and objective reflection of the old fitness assessment system of residential space and environment,the paper analysed the connotation of the old fitness of residential space and the main factors affecting the comprehensive results of this based on a thorough study of the elderly physical function,psychological characteristics,habit of behavior and demand for residential space and environment.The study concluded that a complex performance of the old fitness is comprehensive results of performance of safety,health,convenience,convenience,comfort,support,accessibility and guide of single.Based on the analysis of excavation of the old fitness of residential living space and environment connotation and influencing factors and related theory,the paper choose the more mature Analytic Hierarchy Process to construct the evaluation system through the study of the theory of system evaluation and constructes two sub goals consisting of "the old fitness of residential indoor space and environment " and " the old fitness of residential outdoor space and environment " that could reflect the total target value of the " The assessment system of the old fitness of residential space and environment in urban residential areas ".Each sub objective consists of the criterion layer and the index layer.The detailed content of evaluation index was drawn up through the quantitative relationship between the single performance of the old fitness and elements of physical space and environment.Finally,it realized the transformation from qualitative evaluation to quantitative evaluation.The evaluation system was applied to the engineering examples so that the operability and the evaluation performance of which could be tested.It is hoped that the construction and renovation of urban residential areas can be promoted,the purpose of improving residential space and environment quality for the elderly can be achieved,and a healthy and happy life can be created to the elderly due to the establishment of the evaluation and application of the standard system.
