Mineral resources are the basic energy in the development of national economy.With the development of economy,the exploitation of mineral resources is increasing day by day.As a result of mineral grade,in the mining process to extract the required minerals,will be a large number of residual slag.It is usually in the form of water reservoir to store these slag,this reservoir is called tailings pond,slag dam for blocking these called tailings dam.In recent years,tailings dam accidents occurred frequently at home and abroad,especially in dam failure.Because of the tailings beneficiation plant emissions of fine particles,the size of the tailings pond is larger,the terrain is high,so every tailings is a high potential energy potential debris flow.Once the tailings dam slope stability,there will be a great potential for dam break,will pose a serious threat to the life and safety of the downstream area residents,but also on the ecological environment of the region caused catastrophic damage.So the stability evaluation of tailing dam,tailings dam break flow law research,has important significance for reducing accidents.In this paper,the author using the method of numerical simulation,combining with the engineering example,the stability analysis of tailings dam is carried out,according to the calculation results of stability,the total amount of the total discharge of the dam break is given.We mainly study the dam break mechanism of tailings dam,and summarize the model of tailings dam break.Simulation of flow process of dam break sand flow,the transport rule of dam break sand flow is summarized,specific content includes:(1)Using more extensive numerical simulation software-FLAC3 D in the field of geotechnical engineering,the stability calculation of the engineering case is carried out.Stability of tailings dam under two conditions of natural state without seepage and seepage,the stress characteristics,displacement characteristics and potential slip surface of tailings dam under two conditions are obtained,the analysis shows that the tailings dam is stable under two conditions;(2)To explore the mechanism of tailings dam break,summarize the influence factors of dam break,and give the mathematical model of dam break;(3)Using the computational fluid dynamics software-FLUENT to simulate the dam break sand flow which under the condition of dam failure,to explore the regular pattern of the migration of the dam break sand flow,obtain includes the migration time within 3km distance of the dam,submerged thickness,impact force,etc.results.The results show that in distance 3km from dam site,the break sand can reach more than 20 m and maximum impact force of up to 2MPa;(4)A model for evaluating the severity of tailings dam break is given.Combined with the size of tailings dam,loss of life after dam break,economic losses and social impact factors,evaluated the severity of tailings dam in a given case.It is concluded that the tailings dam is highly influenced,and puts forward the concrete protective measures.
