The influence of global warming will soon make the Arctic route possible to be a new short channel connecting China and Europe.Therefore,studying structure-thermal coupling on marine crane in extreme temperature conditions and analyzing temperature stress of structure are technical supports for safety work of crane,and it has important practical significance.In this paper,by taking a marine crane of icebreaker as the research object,first,mechanical properties of main structural steel EH36 in different temperature were studied though tensile test,and then structural strength was analyzed under combined effects of extreme temperature conditions in arctic northeast route and various loads based on transient temperature field by using ANSYS Workbench software.The main contents can be summarized as follows:(1)Stress-strain curves in different temperature of steel EH36.Tensile test of EH36 under different temperature conditions was designed and then carried out after studying temperature conditions in arctic northeast route.Stress-strain curves were obtained from experimental results and elastic modulus,yield strength,tensile strength were also determined.(2)Structural strength analysis of ice zone ship considering the effect of ice-snow load.First,strength check under all conditions were carried out considering combined effects of rising load,dead weight and wind load by using ANSYS Workbench software,then,ice-snow load was applied to study the influence to stucture.(3)Structural strength analysis of ice zone ship considering the effect of low temperature stress.Structure-thermal coupling on marine crane was calculated in Transient Structural module on the basis of structural temperature distribution which was solved by using Transient Thermal module.Time history of temperature stress was obtained from the calculation and then the effects of temperature stress applied on structure were studied.(4)Structural strength analysis considering the effect of operation process and improved design.First,strength check under all conditions were carried out considering combined effects of rising load,dead weight,wind load,ice-snow load,temperature stress and inertial load which produce in operation process,and then,improved design was carried out based on simulation results.
