In the 21 st century,China's civil aviation industry is booming,the speed of aviation infrastructure construction continues to accelerate and civil aviation industry ushered in an unprecedented opportunity for development.However,the airport is generally located in the periphery of the city and away from the center of the city,the traffic links between city and the airport are not close,so civil aviation passengers go to the airport inconveniently,which makes the civil aviation be disadvantaged in the competition with high-speed rail.In this development context,the air city terminal came into being.The City Air Terminal(CAT)extends the function of the airport terminal to the city so that visitors can enjoy one-stop ticket,check-in,baggage transport and other services in the city.City air terminal effectively decreases the service pressure of airport terminal and makes it more convenience for passengers.Air city terminal has developed for more than 10 years in China,but so far,there has not been a set of theory and method system about city air terminal planning and layout,what leads to the planning of city air terminal lack of scientific and systematic way.Therefore,it is necessary to study the planning and layout of city air terminals in order to achieve passenger transport and service functions of city air terminal better.Firstly,this paper introduced city air terminal's definition,function and effect of its construction,and analyzed the construction conditions and the factors that affect the construction of city air terminal,and then put forward the key factors of city air terminal's planning and layout,characteristics location and principles site selection.Then,the demand of passenger terminal in city air terminal was forecasted.The process of forecast was divided into three levels: urban civil aviation passenger volume forecast,road node passenger demand forecast and urban terminal passenger capacity forecast,which provided the basis for the planning and layout of the city terminal.After that,the optimization method of city air terminal's planning and location was studied.This paper analyzed the difference between the city air terminal and the common transportation facilities and the passenger station,and put forward the multi-objective optimization model based on the total volume of attracted passengers,the average travel time and the total investment cost of the city air terminal.Then Genetic algorithm was used for solving this model.Finally,Xi'an was chosen as an example for studying.This paper introduced the status of civil aviation passenger transport in Xi'an,and through the investigation of passengers in Xi'an Xianyang airport to understand the composition and travel characteristics of passenger.Then the planning model of city air terminal and the genetic algorithm was used to select a reasonable location of the construction of the city air terminal.The results of the model were proved consistent to the fact.
