The Application Of Chinese Traditional Symbol In Intelligent Product Design

Chinese traditional culture has a long history."Chinese traditional symbols" has been spread so far because of its special form and cultural connotation which full of Chinese characteristics.It is a very important part for Chinese traditional culture.It is also treasures of Chinese spiritual civilization——take its disadvantage and keep on its advantage——which has been spread for five thousand years The best way to heritage Chinese traditional symbols is carrying forward it.It’s the responsibility and obligation for every designer to inherit and carry forward it.The topic of "The Application of Chinese Traditional Symbol in Intelligent Product Design " is based on modernizing the traditional symbols.By understanding the concept of Chinese traditional symbols and classify it,designers can extract some symbols which can be used in the intelligent product design and then re-design it.Basing on the implication and emotional sustenance of Chinese traditional symbols,designers can fuse “tradition” with “intelligence”.Basing on the emotional sustenance,designers can make some innovation by combining “tradition” with “intelligence”,or follow the rule of “use tradition for today” to innovate the shape and function of products.The trend of globalization has been expanding.Master Qi Baishi said,“If you learn from me,you will be success.But if you just imitate me,you will be failure.”Thus,Chinese local intelligent products must have our own feature.Chinese designers should consider how to apply Chinese traditional symbols when they design products.Chinese intelligent products have set off a wave of Chinese style today.There are also a lot of excellent products.But there are some problem.Designers only draw the symbols on the surface of products.They don’t know how to combine Chinese traditional symbols with function of products,modernization of design and cultural connotation.In this paper,the author researches and analysis the modeling,meaning,function of intelligent products,and she also design some interactive products which use traditional symbols.This work is based on analyzing lots of literatures.In the end,the author take her individual graduate design as an example.She make some analysis on it.The author expects to offer the use for reference to the application of Chinese traditional symbol in intelligent product design by this text.
