As an important control and protection equipment, high voltage switchgear plays an important role in the safe and reliable operation of the power system. In the long-term operation, impurity, oxidation, wear and even loose will appear on the electrical connectors and circuit breaker, which will cause rises in temperature and discharge phenomenon when large current flows through the weak parts, seriously fusion welding and fire accidents will happen. In order to guarantee the normal operation of the high voltage switchgear and to improve the reliability of power system,we need to know the device status and the change of temperature in switchgear at any time. The temperature on-line monitoring of the weak parts in switchgear will have important engineering significance. In light of the problems of power supply and shortage of intelligence analysis of the traditional switchgear on-line temperature monitoring system, based on Internet of Things technology, microcontroller technology and wireless communication technology, this paper designed a set of high voltage switchgear on-line temperature monitoring system with low power dissipation, which can do some intelligence analysis. The system has solved the problem of power supply insufficient of the traditional switchgear on-line temperature monitoring system,it provides on-line condition monitoring to the inside components of the switchgear, and has practical engineering application value. This paper has mainly done the following work:This paper introduces the important function of the switchgear in power system. The structure, fault type, main reasons and fault performance of temperature rise are discussed too.For the high voltage switchgear, this paper also gives a brief introduction on the main on-line temperature monitoring methods, comparing advantages and disadvantages of various methods. Then the difficult problem to be solved is discussed. This paper makes a brief introduction on the temperature theory of the high voltage switchgear. The overall framework of the high voltage switchgear on-line temperature monitoring system which can diagnose gradual failure and has practical engineering application value based on Internet of Things and with low power consumption is designed.Overall hardware for the high voltage switchgear on-line temperature monitoring system is designed in this paper, including chip selection and each part of circuit design. The wireless temperature module is a miniature embedded system with low power single-chip microcomputer STM8L051F3 and radio-frequency chip Si4463.The parameter of the temperature measurement circuit is optimized too,so it will have the best linearity and sensitivity. Then the hardware of the wireless temperature collector is designed systematically, its power supply is not restricted, and it has the function of environmental temperature and switchgear current acquisition. The software of the high voltage switchgear on-line temperature monitoring system is designed. The software of the wireless temperature module is designed to realize its low-power dissipation when it is running and in standby mode. The software of the wireless temperature collector is also designed so that it will have certain intelligent analysis function,it can find gradual fault of the switchgear and provide evidence for condition maintenance. At the end of this paper,a power dissipation experiment and an actual running test are performed to see if the design of the hardware and software of the high voltage switchgear on-line temperature monitoring system reliable for operation, and whether it meet the need of the actual engineering application.
