Urban traffic as the lifeblood of the city operation and social development,its development is good or bad will directly affect the citizens' daily travel,even the city spatial structure and functional layout.Along with the fast increased of the car ownership year by year,traffic congestion has become one of the main reasons that affecting residents daily travel.At the same time,the non-motorized vehicle has gotten rapid development due to its flexible steering,economic,environmental etc,especially the electric bicycle.As surge in the number of non-motor vehicles,part of the existing non-motorized vehicle road conditions and traffic facilities has far from satisfied with the traffic demand,non-motorized vehicles traveling at will and retrograde interference the efficiency of motorized vehicles serious.In addition,the previous road traffic design ignored considering non-motorized vehicle,non-motorized vehicle lanes were poor continuity,lacking of reasonable traffic organization design and retrograde easily,there were a large part of proportion traffic accidents due to the retrograde behavior,this serious influence traffic efficiency and do harm to driver's safety.Therefore,it`s necessary to do research for the mixed non-motorized traffic flow characteristic and traffic facilities design considering retrograde.In this paper,we analyzed the non-motorized traffic flow characteristics of xi 'an through a large number of actual survey data.At the same time,we analyzed the retrograde non-motorized traffic behavior characteristics under different ways of isolation and proposed corresponding countermeasures and traffic design method to solve retrograde.Firstly,we summarized the non-motorized vehicle's physical properties and traffic characteristics by reading related literature and specifications.At the same time,we analyzed the normal driving and retrograde non-motorized traffic flow characteristics by using related testing and analysis software depending on non-motorized vehicles run data of several road on xi'an.Thirdly,we established the mixed non-motorized vehicle traffic cellular automaton mode considering retrograde in physical isolation and scribing isolation based on the non-motorized traffic flow characteristics in different road.Then we carried on the simulation by using the matlab software and got the retrograde proportion of nonmotorized vehicle affecting the mixed non-motorized vehicle traffic seriously through the analysis of the data of simulation,Lastly,we optimized the width of hybrid non-motorized lane based on the actual survey data of xi 'an.Otherwise,considering the retrograde,we targeted put forward a non-motorized vehicle lanes design and defined its setting conditions and parameters.
