Promenade Architecture is an important content of Le Corbusier ’ s new architecture exploration.He deems that,one of the main feature of modern architecture is promenade---go through and be explored.We call an architecture work great only when we can promenade it.By defining the concept of "promenade architecture" raised by Le Corbusier,I summarized the basic features of " promenade architecture " in this paper including:Various and optional routes;Multiple and changing viewpoints;Constant changing sceneries and wonders.On the basis of this,I analyzed Le Corbusier ’ s classical promenade architecture work Villa Savoie and Villa La Roche,and observed that "promenade architecture" has broken through the traditional architecture view and space rules which stick to fixed,still and close space,and created the image of dynamic,changing and open space which is more pragmatic and touching.The multiple developments of society leads to the result that the modern space design becomes more complicated,the architecture view keeps changing,the manifestation,structure technique and approach becomes diversified,as well the semantic complex." Promenade architecture " also complies with the era development to keep extension,and it has diversified and complex forms and meanings.The emphasis of the paper is the discussion of modern promenade architecture extension,combined with the architectural examples,I analyzed the features of the modern promenade architecture,including its complexity,fuzziness,greenness,and the mixture of history and modern time.The contemporary "promenade architecture " building space exploration has rich meaning,including open space form,rich experience of space and convenient space function and the continuous development of new technology.
