Driven by the rapid social and economic development in china,vocational education has been endowed higher training requirements.The project of national vocational school construction,which mainly aims to improve the quality of professional teaching and comprehensive strength of secondary technology schools,has been initiated during 2011-2013.One thousand technology schools nationwide have been selected as participants.The key to success lies in developing the key major and characteristic specialty.Being a common and popularized education,vocational education is designed for everyone and more and more people are willing to take vocational education and learn what they like.The fundamental goal of vocational education is to help students acquire skills and knowledge which enable them to become skilled workers urgently needed in modern society.The orientation of vocational education is to foster high skilled workers with basic skills.G university established its Digital Design Major based on abundant market survey and specialty evaluation oriented towards cultivating technicians who take charge of digital-retouching and post production in photographic studio.Specialty construction,whose curriculum system and practical training must meet the demand of industry development and enterprise posts,has to satisfy personal needs and social demands which aims to satisfy learners' learning demands and develop students' comprehensive professional ability,lifelong learning ability and sustainable development capacity.Taking Digital Design major of G University as an example,this paper introduces faculty building,curriculum system,construction of training room,faculty training and textbook composing.IntroductionThis part mainly narrates the background of the selected topic,the importance of the research,relevant research in this field,the research method and the definition of relevant concepts.Chapter 1: It introduces the significance of specialty construction,principles of reliable and rational specialty construction,specific content of specialty and concrete process.Chapter 2: Specialty construction is the vital part of the construction of Model Secondary Vocational School which should be based on a great deal of market research.Wefind out the feasibility of the Degital Design major as a key faculty in experimental school via data based on market survey,company management survey and technicians survey.Chapter 3: Based on the previous research and major prospect,his chapter mainly focuses on the curriculum system,faculty training,practical teaching base construction,school-enterprise cooperation and textbook composing etc.Chapter 4: This part analyses the existing issues after the establishment of Digital Design major,expressing the expectation towards the major development and prospect.
