River Health Assessment Method And Application Of Plain River Network Area

Due to the weak hydrodynamic of the river of plain river network area,water environment and water ecology of river system tend to have more problems,the premise of protect and remediate the river must judge and evaluate whether the river is in healthy condition or not.as a result,the river health assessment is an important content for the management of water resources in the new period,the study for river health has been in the exploration stage currently,the river health problem is complex,river ecological environmental problems and the related human factors is very complex,and river health assessment of river has important guiding significance in the conservation and management of river.On the basis of relevant research results at home and abroad,this paper combined"healthy river diagnosis index system in jiangsu province" with the characteristics of the river of plain river network area,constructing a suitable river health evaluation system of plain river network area,and taking the new Tong Yang canal in Taizhou as an example,it has carried on the empirical research,the research results are as follows:(1)Combined with "the river health diagnosis index system in jiangsu province" and the characteristics of the river of plain river network area,this paper defined the connotation of river health,starting from the properties and functions of river,the river health as general objective,the natural health and social services as control object,the paper sets up health valuation index system of river of plain river network area consisting of 12 indexes and 30 variables,and put forward river health assessment methods and standards.(2)The river health assessment system is applied in this article from the natural hydrology,water quality,ecological and social services to evaluate the health condition of Taizhou new Tongyang canal,river health comprehensive index is 63.5,the comprehensive assessment of river health is "medium",river is in unhealthy state.(3)The new Tongyang canal have four main problems,including poor water quality,poor riparian zone condition,poor liquidity,and low biodiversity,respectively.Based on analyzing the health problems of new Tongyang canal,especially the main factors of water quality problems,the paper put forward some suggestion to improve the health of river.The river health assessment system is proposed in this paper,it has been successfully applied to the health assessment of the new Tongyang canal in taizhou and achieved good results,which can be promoted in the river health assessment of the plain river network.
