As one of the most important material carriers of history and culture,traditional villages have many historical stories of cities and traces of times in their development.However tremendous impact has been brought to continuous development of traditional villages,due to the great influences of urbanization.For example,the characteristics of villages are continuously disappearing and the historical and cultural protection work is not optimistic.Based on the collecting and sorting out the relevant documents of traditional villages,this thesis carries out scientific research on the related issues about how to protect and develop them.Through expounding of its background,purpose and significance,and reviewing the related theoretical research results at home and abroad,this thesis summaries the successful experiences of traditional villages' protection and development.Field researches have been extensively carried out about traditional villages in Taizhou.Combining their distribution and status,the thesis sorts out the problems faced by them and gives a deep thinking about these problems,aiming of exploring the main basic principles and strategies of their protection and development.Cangchang village in Jiangyan Distric,Taizhou city is an example here,to validate the planning principle and basic strategies of attaching equal importance to traditional villages' protection and development.This thesis is trying to get traditional villages effectively protected and inherited in urbanization process by the strategy research.So that under the new conditions,the development of villages can continuously meet the needs of villagers' production and life and the traditional villages can glow the new vitality.
