After rapid development for 30 years,undergoing the transformation from “increment and expansion” to “optimization of the reserve”,Chinese cities stand on the concepts of quality,energy and people's livelihood,and emphasize that the reserve updating of “connotative development” becomes the important trend of city development.The public space of historic district becomes coagulation of urban value and plays a vitally important role in city life for it can centrally reflect the evolution of urban natural landscape,historical and cultural development and spirit of humanity.Nowadays,in the new economic era represented by mobile internet and experience consumption,how to build historical public space which is with urban characteristics and can inspire the city's energy becomes the key point of historic district renewal.Evaluation of built environment used to be professional,while opinions from professionals are certainly important,in historic district renewal,with human-centered thinking and sustainable development thinking going further in city construction,we need to know more post occupancy evaluation of public space after renovation on the account of users' behavior habits and their needs.This essay set Tianjin as background,comprehensively considering the public space scale,the time of completion of renovation,the availability of data and so on.It chooses Xiannong Block(commercial historic district),Miansan creative block(industrial historic district)and Munan Park(Residential historic district)as representative cases of transformation of public space in three types of historic districts' renewal.From the bottom-up users' perspective,from the three aspects of subjective evaluation based on POI data,satisfaction evaluation and use method evaluation,the comprehensive use of architecture,urban and rural planning,sociology,psychology,environmental behavior,statistics and multidisciplinary related knowledge to carry on the post occupancy evaluation research to the selected cases.It is necessary to analyze the relationship between psychology,behavior and environment in a real place and in a living environment,to study whether the public space in the historic district meets the needs of users and provide necessary basis for the complete construction of assessment system of post occupancy evaluation of public space in historic district,and further proposed the protection and renewal strategy of the public space in historic district according to the users' needs,so as to provide reference for the design optimization and management.
