As an important road infrastructure in urban transport systems,the road guide signs provide a wide range of information to traffic participants(including drivers and pedestrians)through graphic messages.The rationality of the road guidance information is that it not only can record the road information(including the landmark name)accurately and as much as possible,but also can control the saturation of the information,to avoid the drivers' reaction time out,thus delay the entire urban transport systems,even lead to traffic accidents.In this paper,the current situation of the Chengdu Second Ring Road under the viaduct is regarded as the research background.The main purpose of this paper is to determine the maximum value of the information and to study the relative distance between the two set points.Because the main content of the road guide signs information is the road name,two experiments are designed in this paper,which are e-prime test and Eyelink2000 eye movement test.E-prime experiment,that is,subjects were asked to search the target road name in the video materials and record the reaction time.The results of sign-ranked test show that the number of road names better influences the reaction time.Therefore,it is regarded as the optimal correlation variable.The eye movement experiment,the same as the e-prime experiment.However,it record three more kinds of data,they are fixation count,duration,pupil size mean.After the data analysis,the maximum value of the information is six road names.Finally,the writer divides the information process to five parts,they are finding stage,cognition stage,recognition stage,understanding stage,reaction stage.Then according them,we can get four kinds of distance,that is reading distance,visual recognition distance,sign disappearing distance and front distance,we studied and made an analysis of the influence of the above four factors.What's more,considering the links of each other,we get the specific calculation formulas.Combined the different vehicle speeds,we get the calculated and recommended values.Considering the effort on the Chengdu Second Ring Elevated Road,it is necessary to use redundancy technology.Therefore,as finished the above calculations,on the one hand,we derive the formulas of different redundant spacing,and the calculation can be gotten.On the other hand,we calculate the information memory time according to the different redundancy.
