With the development and application of electric technology in industry area,motors are required in amount of power drive equipment in our daily life and producing procedure.Especially in the industrial area of mining,metallurgy,hydroelectric generation,locomotive traction,the motoring of operating condition,fault diagnosis,energy consumption analysis of large motor is urgently required.Considered as a whole unit,motor drive system consists of motor,power drive system,mechanical load.There are many different method to monitoring the operating condition of motor and analyze the energy consumption.It is significant to the whole motor drive system.In many important industry application area,since tough environment and limited space,the traditional communication mode with cables is forbidden in motor monitoring system.It makes the monitoring system inefficient under this condition.With the increasing requirement of environment protection,the estimation of operation efficiency and carbon emission of motor drive system is a necessary part of motor monitoring system.It provides important guiding significance to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emission.Hence,the research of a motor wireless monitoring system which can analyze the energy efficiency and estimation carbon emission is significant to industry application.Based on ZigBee technology,a motor monitoring system is studied and designed.By using voltage sensor,current sensor and temperature sensor,voltage,current and temperature signals are captured and send into MSP430 processor.In MSP430,the root-mean-square(RMS)voltage,RMS current,power,working efficiency,carbon emission are calculated and displayed in screen.Based on RF chip CC2430,wireless communication module is designed to send the working information of motor.According to the protocol of ZigBee,a wireless data transmission network is established.Since the communication mode in this system is based on ZigBee communication protocol,it can overcome the disadvantages of the traditional cable-communication mode.It is suitable for the industry application with tough environment with low cost.Through the wireless network,the operation information of motor is transmitted to host PC.It makes host PC possible to monitor more than one motor drive systems simultaneously.By checking the information displayed on screen of host PC,supervising officer can analyze many parameters of motor,examine the stability,operation energy consumption of motor drive system,predict and diagnose the fault of motor.According to the design plan,a prototype system is developed.The appearance of the prototype system and the interface of software are introduced.The corresponding monitoring experiment is implemented on an asynchronous motor.In the experiment,by using wireless communication in 50 meters,the current,voltage,temperature,working efficiency and carbon emission are supervised.Meanwhile,by using high-speed sign acquisition card,voltage,current and temperature signals of motor are collected.In Matlab software environment,signals collected by two methods are compared.By comparing with the data collected by acquisition card,the proposed method is proved to be effective in motor monitoring application.
