A rear shaft neck fan aero engine part was redesigned from 2 combined pars into 1 single part after structural modification.The connection precision and the drive torque stability are greatly improved due to the compact structure with high rigidity and stiffness and the arc tooth structure used on the end-gear of flange connection,which increase the machining difficulty and time and affect the engine's delivery badly at the same time.This paper focus on analysis of following problems according to the characteristics of rear shaft fan part with high precision and new structure,in order to improve the part's machining quality and efficiency:(1)Reduce circle time,improve machining accuracy and efficiency through the research of Mill-turn process' s usage.(2)High depth-diameter ratio hole drilling research for depth hole making.(3)Produce qualified arc tooth through the tooth grinding research.(4)Develop non-intervention NC program and built-in measurement program to achieve the goals of machining process automation and quality improvement.The major difficulties in research are as follows:(1)It is the first time to use mill-turn process on this kind of part which is difficult to position and clamp due to its small size.(2)The depth-diameter ratio of ?6 hole on the part's end surface is 18.It will be difficult to remove chips and cool with traditional method which will cost too much cutter and also it is hard to meet the quality requirement.(3)The part's assembly datum and axial dimension will greatly affect the assemble dimension chain and it can't be produced through single clamping,which increase the difficulty in machining.(4)The technique plan and parameter of grinding the end-gear arc tooth surface need to be tested and verification due to its high precision requirement.As a result,the machining process has potential risk.The research of this shaft neck part's technique plan compiled with the application of advanced mill-turn machining process and the consideration of part's structure feature as well as its technique requirement.During part's production,gun drill method is used to solve the chip removal problem in deep hole making process.Specific fixtures were designed for part's positioning and clamping.Grinding test was processed to settle the grinding parameter for end gear arc tooth's production.Non-intervention NC program and built-in measurement program were programmed to improve production efficiency.Currently the cutting speed for titanium part has been raised to 80m/min.Through the research in this paper,mill-turn machining process' s application guarantee the deep hole and end gear arc tooth's production quality and precision.The part's production efficiency also has a dramatic increase which leads better delivery performance and higher matching capacity for the workshop.
