Railway refuge line can prevent the trains out of control from colliding and overturning,and in this way reducing the loss of accident.Nowadays,many domestic and foreign railways canceled the asylum line settings because of that the diesel and electric locomotives were equipped with rheostatic braking,regenerative braking.However,due to the special terrain and terrain conditions of China,the construction of the refuge line of railway in our country should be specially considered.The railway evacuation line in China on the condition of equipment have bigger difference,while the capacity of railway and the development of transportation also put forward new requirements for the setting of refuge line,so it is necessary to discuss,update and improve the conditions of setting up the evacuation line in the new situation.This paper refer to the check method of diesel and electric traction sector in the former "Refuge Line Design Rules",simulating the operating process of runaway train,analyzing the forces and braking condition of trains in different states,and applying break cumulative method to calculating the braking distance,establishing a set of theoretical models and methods for calculating the starting checking slope of the railway refuge line,to judge whether railway need to set the refuge line.The result of the study:the setup condition of refuge line is not only related to the type of traction,the mode of traction and the slope of line,but also affected by the station spacing.What's more,for the braking material and the brake shoe pressure in the current "Railway Technical Management Rules",the result of the tarting checking slope of the railway refuge line differs from the former "Refuge Line Design Rules".In the course of the research,firstly,this paper determines the maximum allowable speed of the train line into the refuge line.In order to ensure traffic safety,the maximum speed of a runaway train entering the refuge should be less than the design speed,maximum travel speed of track strength,Train speed of turnout and the subversive speed for the minimum radius of curve line.Secondly,this paper determines the downhill speed limit of the freight train under different speed conditions.Calculating the emergency braking distance when the freight train running on the slope between 21 ‰ to 40 ‰ by using break cumulative method taking the speed interval for 5 km/h.Then determining the freight downhill speed limit under different slope conditions.Finally,This paper refers to the check method of diesel and electric traction sector in the former "Refuge Line Design Rules",simulating the operating process of train,analyzing the forces and braking condition of trains in different states,and applying break cumulative method to calculating the braking distance,and finally work out the setup condition of refuge line on long and steep slopes.
