Juglans regia 'Xinwen185' is one of the main cultivar of J. regia major producing area in Xinjiang. Most previous research in J. regia focused on the changes of mineral element concentrations in leaves or the changes of component contents in ripe fruits, while the cognition of correlation in the mineral element concentrations of trees and the component contents of kernels were not deep enough. Therefore, J. regia 'Xinwen185' during fruit growth period was taken as the research object. With the methods of field samplings and lab analyses, mineral element concentrations of leaves and fruits and component contents of fruits were studied under general production management conditions. Based on the results of analysis, correlation in leaves and fruits mineral element concentrations and component contents in kernels were determined. The main results were as follows:There was a decreasing trend in the concentration of nitrogen(N), phosphorus(P), potassium(K), copper(Cu) and zinc(Zn) in the leaves during the fruit development period with seasonal changes, while calcium(Ca), magnesium(Mg), iron(Fe) and manganese(Mn) had an increasing trend. Generally speaking, N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Cu and Zn element concentration had a decreasing trend in the kernels. All element concentrations had an increasing trend in the green husks except K. The K, Ca and Mg were the key elements of the supply-demand relationship between the walnut trees and the fruits in the process of the fruit quality formation.During the fruit growth period of J. regia 'Xinwen185', fresh weigh of single fruit changed as S-shaped and dry weigh of single fruit changed as dual-S-shaped. The content of crude protein in the green husks and kernels generally had a decreasing trend, while the content of crude protein in the kernels changed as W-shaped, and it had two decreasing-increasing progress in fruit growth period. The content of crude fat in the green husks showed little change during fruit growth period, and the content of crude fat in the kernels was significant increased. Generally speaking, the total soluble sugar content in the green husks and the kernels turned out an increasing-decreasing trend, and the volatility of total soluble sugar content in the green husks was higher than it in the kernels. The crude protein, crude fat and soluble sugar in kernels were formed and accumulated in different stage, soluble sugar accumulated before fat did. There was significant positive correlation between the content of crude protein and total soluble sugar in the kernels, while the content of crude protein and crude fat had an positive correlation, and the content of crude fat and total soluble sugar had an extremely significant positive correlation. The concentration of Zn in the leaves, the concentration of Mn and Cu in the kernels and the concentration of Ca, Mg Fe and Mn in the green husks had pronounced correlation with the content of crude protein in the kernels. The concentration of P, K, Ca, Mg Fe and Mn in the leaves and the concentration of K and Zn in the kernels and the green husks had significant correlation with the content of crude fat in the kernels. The concentration of Fe in the leaves and the concentration of K in the green husks had pronounced correlation with the content of total soluble sugar in the kernels. The K, Ca and Mg concentrations in tree were the key influencing factor of the contents of the crude protein, the crude fat and the total soluble sugar in the kernels.
