Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat., a perennial herb from composite, has been used as the common medicinal material with its dry flowers. It is a very important Chinese traditional medicine recorded in the Pharmacopecia of People's Republic of China. It has the effects of expelling wind and clearing heat, removing liver heat and improving eyesight. It is widely used in treating common cold of wind-heat, headache, and dizziness. So far, there have no quality standards and breeding procedures of C. morifolium seedling. This paper studied the preliminary classification of seedling of C. morifolium and the relationship between classification, plant growth, yield and quality of ingredients. Also identification of seedlings and cutting reproduction of C. morifolium, were researched. The main results were showed as following:(1) The morphological index of the seedlings was detected and the method of principal component and correlation analysis were used to determine the grading index, using stepwise cluster analysis for clustering. The height and ground diameter were determined for the quality indicators of the grading of seedings, and the standard quality grading of seedlings of Chrysanthemum morifolium. was initially set up.(2) Different classes of Chrysanthemum morifolium seedlings have different effects on the growth, appearance of medicinal material and the yield. The ground diameter of class I and II were larger than those of class III, and the number of branches of class I and II were more than those of class III, on the contrary, the plant height of class III was higher than that of class I and II. The shape and appearance of the medicinal material had no effect on the internal quality. Flower center diameter and tubular floret number of class I and II were significantly larger than those of class III, so as the yield. The seedling grading had no obvious effect on the internal quality of medicinal material.(3) Leaf structure of Medicinal Chrysanthemum of 12 cultivars were analysised to establish discriminant equation based on variance analysis and discriminant analysis. On this basis, we designed the identification program and software(based on the python language). The 11 leaf parameter index data of 12 different cultivars of medicinal Chrysanthemum, showed that the leaf parameters were significant different from each other, reached significant levels. Different cultivars of C. morifolium leaf Epidermal Morphology were different through scanning electron microscope observation. The stomatal density, stomatal size, gland density, trichome length and density, epidermal wax content of different types of cultivation were different from each other, which provided the basis for identification of C. morifolium seeddlings.(4) The effects of two different parts of cutting wood and four different hormone solubility each of IAA, NAA?IB A on cuttage of C. morifolium were studied. The result showed that, using young shoots with IBA of 750 mg·L-1 and the best rooting effect of which, the number rooting and stem segment were 13.63 and 5.96. To treate the cutting wood with indole acetic acid (IAA), naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), indole butyric acid (IBA) of which each was configured 250,500,750,1000 mg·L-1 solution, results showed that the rooting efficiency were significantly better than the control, the best rooting efficiency was IBA,750 mg·L-1, index of root system was 17.8. By orthogonal design L16(45), the cutting conditions of different temperature, promoting root agent solubility and soaking time were optimized. Effect of various factors on the rooting of cuttings are temperature> promote rooting solubility> soaking time. The optimum solution of tooting is A3B4C1, that is treated in 1500 times promote rooting for 30 min, incubation at 25?.
