The Design And Development Of Sheep Farm Information System

In recent years, the amount and scale of sheep farm quickly expand with the rapid development of sheep industry. Regular management and security of sheep farm become more important. However, the small and medium-sized sheep farm still relies on manual management which makes the work heavy and inefficient as well as causes large economic loss because of incorrect action on illegal information. Therefore, information technology including Internet, Internet of Things, wireless communication and intelligent monitoring technology is necessary for sheep farm's modernization management to reduce the operation cost and improve the efficiency of management.This paper studies the research project " the development of sheep farm information system " which was commissioned by Jiangsu Guoxin ecological agriculture company with the application of wireless sensor technology, embedded technology and Internet technology. Meanwhile, the project realizes the integrated information management of the sheep farm, greatly improves the level of sheep farm's security, improve the management efficiency and productivity of the sheep farm.The main work of this paper includes the software and hardware design of information acquisition subsystem, intelligent security subsystem, sheep farm management subsystem and remote information platform. The information acquisition subsystem is based on ZigBee wireless mesh network to gather the environmental parameters of the sheep farm. The information acquisition devices send the data to the server via the intelligent gateway device which bridges the ZigBee network and ethernet network. Intelligent security subsystem which includes cameras and infrared detectors protect the sheep farm. Cameras can detect the motion of the moving objects and infrared detectors can detect the exotic invasion. Sheep farm management subsystem realizes the integrated management of sheep farm information including sheep house information management, staff information management and sheep information management. Remote information platform merges the above three subsystems and releases the system on public via Internet in order to let the users can visit and manage remotely.The chapters of this paper is as follows:The background of the project as well as the domestic and international situation of the current study are introduced in chapter 1. In chapter 2, the requirements of the system are discussed and the overall design scheme of the system is proposed. Chapter 3 discusses the hardware design of the information acquisition device and the intelligent gateway device. Chapter 4 introduces the embedded software of the information acquisition device and the intelligent gateway device. Chapter 5 introduces the database design with each subsystem's E-R graph and table. Chapter 6 contains the design of each subsystem server software. In chapter 7, the installation and the debugging of the system are introduced as well as the problems and solutions that were encountered..The sheep information system has already run in GuoXin company's sheep farm and the systems operates stably and well.
