Pet food is high-class animal food between human's food and feed for beasts and birds, which is specialized for pets. Daily ration of nutrition is not only the foundation of healthy growth but also priority issue for pet cats. Unfortunately, lots of pet owners do not understand feeding habit of pet cats, and lack of knowledge about cat food nutrition.They can not feed their pets reasonably. What's worse, various diseases are caused by improper kind of food or disbalance of nutrition.This study is designed by questionary about state of pet cats' diet for pet owners in animal hospitals of Guangzhou. It's supposed to find out the influence of pet owners' age and income on pet cats' diet, and different daily ration affection on health situation of pet cats. What's more, it revealed adjuvant effect of prescription diet combined with common clinical cats' diseases. Finally, by integrating the result of survey in Guangzhou,development trend of pet food in China and abroad, this study discussed the development trend of cat food in Guangzhou.800 questionnaires for this survey were send out in animal hospitals in Guangzhou from July to December 2014. After data statistical analysis based on the 514 questionnaires collected, the result is shown as below: Consumption on pet food is proportional to the income of pet owners; Middle-young people in 21-50 years of age, who have stable income and social positions, are willing to spend much money to get better quality,more healthy and safer food for their pet cats. According to the statistic data, the physical properties of pet diet, nutrition composition and biochemical reaction after eating have different degrees of influence health of pet cats. We assure that pet cats' daily diet and disease have certain relationship. As a result of the instability of homemade pet food, demand of the cats' nutrition can not be met. What's worse, certain diseases closely related to the diet, such as diabetes and periodontal disease can be caused due to long-term consumption.From January to April 2015, an animal hospital in Guangzhou accepted 17 cat urinary tract diseases under the clinical cases. 12 cases with light and similar condition were selected as test object, and they were divided into prescription diet group and the control group. By received treatment accord with principle of the treatment of lower urinary tract diseases, two groups of cases were fed by traditional Chinese medicine prescription diet and normal cat food as daily ration separately during therapy. After five weeks of hospitalization, clinical symptoms of urinary tract inflammation of cats in prescription grain group disappeared thoroughly. Besides, urine's p H value was controlled in normal range.Only a small amount or even no crystallization could be found in urine inspection. It shown an ideal therapeutic effect. By contrast, clinical symptoms of cats in control group completely vanished except one case. But the p H value of urine of cats in this group was still in the weak alkaline level. A few or more crystallizations were detected in urine inspection for these cats. The clinical trial indicates that Chinese traditional medicine prescription diet for urinary tract has positive effect on feline lower urinary tract inflammation.
