The oriental fruit moth, Grapholitha molesta (Busck) (Lepidoptera:Tortricidae), is a common fruit pest that is widely distributed throughout fruit growing areas of the world, and in particular, it has become an increasingly serious problem in China. Grapholitha molesta is a major pest of pears, peaches and apples. Due to destroying traits of OFM which are respectively strong bore and so on, multiple chemical control does not produce the desired effect and even lead to insecticide resistance, worker safety, and food residue. Thus, this has provided an impetus for research and development regarding alternative control technologies, such as bionic control and prevent technology using sex pheromone which is strong specificity, non-toxic and environmentally friendly. As an important source of income for farmers and the second industry of Pinglu county in Shanxi Province, Peach trees have widely planted in OFM attacking shoots and fruits of peach has reduced peach quality. Our group in fruit borer project from Shanxi Agricultural University promote the biological control projects on boring insect pests in peach orchard in 2013 to 2014, including monitor, trap, and mating disruption in the demonstration orchards. Our results form core demonstration regions showed that the captured moths of OFM?Lyonetia clerkella L?Lithocolletis ringoniella Matsumura were more than Grarholita funebrana (Treitschke)?Adoxophyes orana(Fischer von Rosslerstamm)?Carposina sasakii Matsumura, and Cydia trasias(Meyrick)?Bactrocera dorsalis(Hendel)?Dichocrocis punctiferalis (Guenee)?Cydia pomonella (L) were not observed. Also, OFM is aimed at doing trap and mating disruption. By demonstrating and promoting comprehensive management technology, we achieved a good economic, social and ecological benefits from new biological model to control the pest to. Additionally, we found a lot of problems, and discuss them in government, school, fruit growers, and gives relevant suggestions.OFM is a long-standing target for the development of mating disruption programs. Therefore, we did a series of field experiments with multifarious sex pheromone products were conducted in peach orchard of Tai Gu county, Shan Xi province.First, compared the controlling effect and duration of independently synthesized and in market sex pheromone lures. The control effects and durations were not significantly different.Second, compared the disrupting and controlling effects of different densities including either 1,11,33,66,99 or 132 lures/667m2 from synthesized independently sex pheromone lure. The disrupting and controlling effects in treatment areas were higher than control areas, and increased with densities. We suggested that 66/667m2 is optimal based on cost and control effects. Therefore,66/667m2 is the best density in consideration of use-cost and control effect.
