Rape is an important oil crop, and it's the main source of edible oil. The level of mechanization of rape industry in China is low,specially in mechanized harvesting, which has seriously constrained the development of rape industry.The segmented harvest has the advantages that the combine harvest does not have. This paper was based on the collection and reorganization of documents. The characteristics of various types of pickups were analysed and the research status and the development of pick up device at home and abroad were introduced. Accordingly, the paper put forward the experimental study in which the spring-finger cylinder pickup collector would be used for rapeseed picking, combined with the current research situation. Based on kinematic analysis on pickups and influence factors analysis of collecting capacity, the proportion range was confirmed. Spring-finger cylinder pickup collector installed in the indoor soil bin trolley, and made the spring-finger cylinder type rape picking test-bed through simulating field work environment. Bench test and response surface analysis were carried out. Then the paper obtained the following conclusions:(1) The test about water content and crack resistance of oilseed rape showed changes of the rapeseed pod moisture content in different time and strength of rapeseed pod dehiscence under different moisture content after cutting and sunning and provided a reference for experimental research in which the spring-finger cylinder pickup collector were used for rapeseed picking.(2) The spring-finger cylinder rapeseed picking test-bed was designed and trial-manufactured. The proportion range of pick up roller speed and machine forward speed were confirmed, through kinematic analysis on pickups and influence factors analysis of collecting capacity.; the selection range for picking up parameters was determined with the pickup structure parameters.(3) Taking the loss rate as evaluation index, a single-factor experiment test on pick-up roller speed, machine forward speed and spring-finger into stubble depth was made by the test-bed, and the reasonable range was obtained. Based on that, reducing factor level's range, quadratic regression rotation combination test was carried out by using Design-Expert data analysis software, and the regression equation's mathematical model of the loss rate in picking up which is influenced by the pick-up roller speed, the machine forward speed and spring-finger into stubble depth was obtained. The three factors listed in descending order according to their importance are pick-up roller speed, machine forward speed and spring-finger into stubble depth. When the pick-up roller speed was 90 r/min, machine forward speed was 0.7 m/s, spring-finger into stubble depth was 250 mm, the optimum picking up performance indicators was achieved.
