| Objective:In order to explore the application of peritoneal dialysis in the treatment of acute renal failure on dogs, the authors establish the standard procedure of canine peritoneal dialysis, and facilitate the clinical application and popularization of peritoneal dialysis technology on pets. The purpose of this study is to provide reference for canine renal failure, improve the cure rate of canine renal failure, and enhance the clinical serviceability on pets.Methods:1. The model of acute renal failure was constructed by different doses of gentamicin and 1% ethylene glycol solution.2. The practical value of each dialysis was evaluated by Adopting different peritoneal dialysis catheters, respectively.3. Two kinds of dialysis catheter surface sites were selected by the clinical effective comparison.4. For investigating the therapeutic efficacy of peritoneal dialysis for acute renal failure in dogs, the experimental groups were divided into four groups,:the blank control group (Group 1), the acute renal failure group (Group 2), the routine treatment group (Group 3) and the peritoneal dialysis group (Group 4).Results:1. The gentamicin established the canine model in high dose group (450 thousand IU/kg) exhibited the symptom of canine model of acute failure at 4 days, and the time of establishing model was the shortest (P<0.05), furthermore, there was no acutely death dogs caused by the treatment.2. The catheter complications of peritoneal dialysis were reduced by using homemade tube, because of its high practical value.3. The complication of lateral abdominal wall tube was less than that of belly line tube.4. The risk of the disease caused by nitrogen was significantly reduced because of the peritoneal dialysis method, and significant decreases of the albumin and total protein concentration (P<0.05) induced by the peritoneal dialysis method wouldcausethe risk of hypoproteinemia. Conclusion:In the present research, the peritoneal dialysis treatment can effectively reduce the accumulation of toxins including creatinine and urea on dogs which are suffered from acute renal failure. This treatment is also able to prevent and cure the hypoproteinemia. In addition, the application of peritoneal dialysis obtained effective therapeutic value in clinical cases. |
