Myelography is a very mature technique in clinical medicine The application of veterinary clinical examination was carried out earlier in foreign countries, and the operation and technical specification was perfect. In China, most of the Chinese literature that can be consulted about animal myelography is related to dogs and most of the large-scale animal hospital often do myelography in dogs. However, these are rarely about cats.Based on the problem of grass roots veterinary education in our country, many front-line veterinarians are difficult to learn relevant knowledge from foreign literature;meanwhile, the number of cats in our country is increasing and the spinal injury cases caused by the fall, car crash and other accidents also showed an increasing trend. Therefore, the operation procedure of the cat myelography and the standardization and refinement of the dose of the contrast-medium will bring a lot of convenience for the inspection of the front-line veterinarians. This study can conveniently select and determine the type and specification of the contrast agent according to the specific condition to avoid the adverse consequences caused by misuse.Today, more sophisticated medical equipment and technology can be u sed for the examination of the nervous system, such as CT,MRI,etc..However,most of animal hospitals in our country belong to private assets and such inspection equipment due to the high cost of the corresponding inspection costs more than most people's consumption level. Therefore, the myelography in the future for a long time will remain a major pillar of veterinary clinical examination.Even in human medicine, myelography is superior to CT or MRI in the detection of certain diseases, which is the main reason for the preservation of spinal angiography in human medicine. In this study, the dosage of iodinated contrast-medium contrast agent in cats was determined by using iohexol and iopamidol as an experimental drug in a healthy domestic cat.The first part of the experiment with iohexol as the contrast agent, taking 20mgI/kg as the dosage of interval value,30mgI/kg as the minimum dose and 270mgI/kg as the maximum dose, determined the best dosage and the most suitable development time.through the interval x-ray photograph. In this experiment, the lumbar intervertebral space was used as the injection site of contrast agent, according to the individual differences of the experimental animals, the injection point was selected as L5/6 or L6/7.The animals were immobilized to the dorsal-ventral position for the puncturing the lumbar spine, the DV and RL x-ray photogaphs were taken after injecting contrast-medium agent for the 0min,5min,10 min,20min,30 min and 60 min, respectively.Through the comprehensive comparison and analysis it was found that the total spinal cord development of iohexol dosage was 150mgI/kg,after injecting iohexol for 10 minutes the spinal cord could developed fully, for 60 minutes the contrast-medium agent was till found in the vertebral canal. When the dosage of iohxeol increased to 50mgI/kg,the lumbar segment was completely developed clearly for 5min,for 20 min the lumbar spine was blurred but the thoracic spine was still visible, for 60 min the lumbar spine coundn't be developed, the thoracic spine cound be developed and the cervical vertebra cound be developed.Accurate determination of contrast agent in cat's myelography was conducted for the first time in China, and the contrast agent used in this experiment was measured by the amount of iodine in the agent(i.e.the unit of measurement is mgI/kg).So the results were applied to the different specifications of the same agent products and other kinds of water-soluble iodine contrast agents.
