To investigate the effects of probiotics and enzyme preparation on improving the nutrient utilization of straw, rice, wheat straw were used as rough feed ingredients. Two biological treatment were conducted for feeding trial:(1)straw silage fermentation with mixture of cellulose and lactobacillus was added to the diet;(2)compound enzyme preparation were added directly to the diets. This test is divided into two parts, whitch were listed as follows:Exp.1 aimed to study the effect of rice straw treated by two types of additives on growth performance, apparent digestibility of nutrients, slaughter performance and serum biochemical parameters of Dorper ×small-tailed Han crossbred male lambs.Eighty Dorper ×small-tailed Han crossbred male lambs with initial weight of(24 ±2.42)kg were randomly divided into four groups with five replicates in each group and four lambs per replicete.Treatments are control(dry rice straw),TGI(rice straw treated by bacterial enzyme compound preparations),TGII(dry rice straw treated by compound enzymes),and Leymus Chinensis group. The experiment lasted for 60 d with 8 d of adaptation period. The results showed that average daily gain, dry matter intake and feed efficiency in TGI,TGII and Leymus Chinensis groups were greater than those in control group(P<0.05),but no difference was observed among TGI,TGII and Leymus Chinensis groups(P>0.05);Apparent digestibility of DM,OM,NDF and ADF in treatment TGI were greater than those in control group(P<0.05),but no difference was observed among TGI,TGII and Leymus Chinensis groups, expect for NDF digestibility(P>0.05),Apparent digestibility of DM,NDF and ADF in treatment TGII were greater than those in control group(P<0.05),but no difference was observed among TGI,TGII and Leymus Chinensis groups(P<0.05).No diffenence was observed in nutrient digestibility between TGI and TGII(P>0.05);No significant was detected in dressing percentage, the weight of head, feet and skin+wool among all the group(P>0.05);liver and rumen weight in the TGI,TGII and Leymus Chinensis groups were greater than those in control group(P<0.05),but no significant difference was found in the weight and the percentages of other stomachs, small intestion and large intestine(P>0.05);No difference was observed in the concentration of serum indices among all groups(P>0.05).Feeding bacterial enzyme compound preparations could improve nutrient digestibility of lambs fed rice straw, which made the nutrient value of rice straw is close to that of Leymus Chinensis;Feeding compound enzymes to lambs fed rice straw is favorable for nutrient digestion and absorption, which made the nutrient value of rice straw even exceed that of Leymus Chinensis.Exp.2 aimed to study the effects of wheat straw treated by two types of additives on growth performance, apparent digestibility of nutrients, slaughter performance and serum biochemical parameters of Dorper ×small-tailed Han crossbred male lambs.Eighty Dorper ×small-tailed Han crossbred male lambs with initial weight of(24 ±2.42)kg were randomly divided into four groups with five replicates in each group and four lambs per group(P<0.05),but no difference was observed among TGI,TGII and Leymus Chinensis groups(P>0.05);No difference was detected in apparent digestibility of DM and OM between treatment group and control group(P>0.05),NDF digestibility was greater in TGI than that in control group(P<0.05),but no difference was observed between treatment group and Leymus Chinensis group(P>0.05),No difference was observed in NDF digestibility between TGII and two control groups(P>0.05),ADF digestibility in TGI and Leymus Chinensis group were greater than that in control group(P<0.05),and no difference was observed in ADF digestibility between TGII and control group(P>0.05);no difference was detected in dressing percentage and the weight of head, feet and skin + wool among all the group(P>0.05);liver
