Variations in NAI levels of 30 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants in the absence of electrostimulation and on electrostimulation were determined in details. The main results are as follows:(1)Variation in NAI levels of control groups and NAI levels of treatment groups generated by 18 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants under natural conditions18 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants were chosen and 3 treatment groups and 1 control group for each species(or cultivar)was design to determine and compared from each other about their NAI levels under natural situation in 800mm×800mmx800mm sealed spaces.Mean values of NAI levels in 30 mins were determined for each species and t-test was analysed on the basis of mean values. There are 4 species(cultivars)showing NAI levels in treatment group is highly significant higher than control group and(P<0.01),that is,Schumbergera bridgesii,Mammillaria hahniana,Ferocactus latispinus and Parodia schumanniana.NAI levels for 4 species(cultivars)in treatment group is significant higher than control group and(P<0.05),that is,Echinomastus intertextus,Astrophytum myriostigma、Gymnocalycium baldianum,Echinocactus grusonii,NAI levels for 2 species(cultivars)in treatment group is significant lower than control group and(P<0.05),that is,Echinofossulocactus pentacanthus,Mammillaria hahniana cv.There are 8 species(cultivars)showing no significant differences between treatmentgroups and control groups, that is,Oroyaperuviana,Coryphanthapycancantha,Coryphanthy elephantidens,Echinopsis silvestrii var.lutea,Gymnocalycium denudatum ’Kaiomaru’,Mammillaria spinosissima var.rubens,Gymnocalycium mihanovichii varf.riedrichii,Mammillaria spinosissima var.rubens.2.Daily variation trends in NAI levels of 12 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants under natural conditions12 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants were chosen and 3 treatment groups and 1 control group for each species(or cultivar)was design to determine and compared from each other about their NAI levels under natural situation in 800mm×800mm×800mm sealed spaces.Mean values of NAI levels over 24 hours were determined for each species and t-test was analysed on the basis of mean values. There are 2 species(cultivars)showing NAI levels in treatment group is highly significant higher than control group and(P<0.01),that is,Plaskia chichipe,Gymnocalycium pflanzii,NAI levels for 3 species(cultivars)in treatment group is significant higher than control group and(P<0.05),that is,Natocactus scopa var.candidusf.crist,Ntocactus graessneri,Carneginea gigantea,NAI levels for 5 species(cultivars)in treatment group is significant lower than control group and(P<0.05),that is,Astrophytum ornatum’Hukuriyu’,Mammillaria bocasana,Mammillaria elongata var.intertexta,Opuntia microdasys,Notocactus magnifrcus f.variegata,There are 2 species(cultivars)showing no significant differences between treatmentgroups and controlgroups(P>0.05),that is,Melocactus amoelnus,Rebeia albipilosa。Daily variation trends in NAI levels showed time intervals at which peak values and valley values for 12 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants appeared in the treatment group was inconsistent with those in the control groups.3.Variation in NAI levels of control groups(pot with only soil and without plant)and those of treatment groups generated by 30 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants under electrostimulation conditions.30 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants were selected and 3 treatment groups and 1 control group for each species(or cultivar)was design to determine and compared from each other about their NAI levels under electrostimulation conditions in 800mm×800mm×800mm sealed spaces.Pulsed Electric Field(Um=10kV,τ= 1.0s,T=50ms)was applied for electrostimulation.Mean values of NAI levels in 30 mins were determined for each species.NAI levels in all 30 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants except Echinopsis silvestrii var.lutea are higher in treatment groups than those in control group.NAI levels in 29 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants under electrostimulation conditions are 9-170 times as high as those under natural conditions.4.Orthogonal design to optimize parameters of pulsed electric fieldsThree factors, namely pulse voltage, frequence and pulse width, were selected for orthogonal design to optimize the parameters of electrostimulation to generate highest NAI concentration. The optimal parameters of electrostimulation for 10 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants are as follows:Um=15 kV,T=1.0s and τ=60 ms for Natocactus scopa var.candidusf.crist。Um=17kV,T=0.5s and τ=90 ms for Astrophytum ornatum ’Hukuriyu’。Um=17 kV,T=1.5s and τ=90 ms for Coryphantha pycancantha。Um=15 kV,T=0.5s and τ=60 ms for Echinocactusgrusonii。Um=17 kV,T=0.5s and τ=90 ms for Gymnocalycium pflanzii。Um=17kV,T=1.5s and τ=90 ms for Schumbergera bridgesii。Um=17 kV,T=0.5s and τ=90 ms for Gymnocalycium denudatum.’Kaiomaru’。Um=17kV,T=0.5s and τ=90 ms for Carneginea gigantea。Um=17 kV,T=0.5s and τ=90 ms for Melocactus amoelnus。Um=17kV,T=0.5s and τ=90 ms for Oroya eruviana。5.Optimal pulsed electric fields were exerted on 3 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants for 9 days to conduct fatigue phenomena experimentOptimal pulsed electric fields were exerted on 3 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants for 9 days.Daily mean NAI levels of them were determined and multiple analysis show fatigue trend occurred in Melocactus amoelnus, while no obvious fatigue trend occurred in Echinocactus grusonii and Schumbergera bridgesii.6.Relationship between NAI levels in 4 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants and number of thorns under electrostimulation conditionsNAI levels in 4 species(cultivars)of cactaceous pot plants with intact thorns, half number of thorn and without thorn were determined respectively. The result showed higher NAI levels generated with more numerous thorns.7.The ideas of development of plant NAI generatorIt is applicable to explore a plant NAI generator from which NAI release by cactaceous plants by our experiments and 2 types of NAI generator were designed.
