Taking biochar as materials, using randomized block experiment, explore biochar on tobacco-planting soil physical and chemical properties, four processing(0,3000,3750,4500 kg/hm2)were performed to investigate the effects of biochar on microbial population, microbial functional diversity and growth and development of flue-cured tobacco, etc. The principal results were as follows:(1)Using biochar can significantly raise the soil p H to 1.81% ~ 15.26%.Biochar can increase soil organic carbon content in mature period,of which the highest can be increased by 25.38%.The effects of biochar on soil total nitrogen content is not obvious.During the ripening, biochar can significantly improve the soil carbon and nitrogen ratio, the optimum significantly improved 21.03% contrast with the contral when fertilized with 4500 kg/hm2 biochar.(2)Biochar can increase the amount of soil bacteria and fungi significantly, but the number of actinomycetes appeared no significant difference.Biochar can improve soil microbial AWCD value, and increased with the extension of incubation time.Biological carbon can improve the growth of microorganisms which use sugars, amino acids, carboxylic acid, aggregation, amine and phenols as carbon source. The principal component analysis on 31 carbon source showed that carbon source like sugar and carboxylic acids could be the precipitating factor of why soil microbial sensitive to biochar, while Aggregation class carbon source might be the cause of soil microbial sensitivity to different biochar dose.Using biochar could increase soil microbial diversity, which showed a significant difference in the group stage and the flourishing tree long, while no significant difference in the mature period.(3)The biochar can increase the SPAD of tobacco leaves in flourishing and mature period.Biochar have no obvious effect on root activity of flue-cured tobacco in resettling stage,Tobacco in vigorous growing and mature period processed with 3750 kg/hm2 biochar have the highest root activity, which respectively 13.02% and 13.78% higher than control. The effects of biochar on the height, leaf width, maximum leaf area and stem growth of flue-cured tobacco were studied.
