Objective:To observe the clinical curative effect of treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy due to qi deficiency and blood stasis with warm needling method; To explore its clinical value and to provide theoretical basis for the clinical application of warm needling method to the treatment of DPN with the anticipation of providing a new thought and method for clinical practice. Methods:63 patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy due to qi deficiency and blood stasis were randomly divided into the treatment group(32 cases) and the control group(31 cases) according to the different treatment. On the basis of the basic treatment, KI 1, ST 36, GB 34, LR 3, SP 10, KI 3, GB39, SP6, PC6, LI11,CV 6 and GV20 of the treatment group were acupunctured. The control group was instructed to take mecobalamine daily for 10 days as a treatment period. Clinical symptoms of groups in the eyes of TCM, Toronto score and sensory nerve and reflex nerve conduction velocity before the treatment and after 3 treatment periods were compared. Results:TCM syndrome integral, Toronto score and nerve conduction velocity of the two groups before and after treatment were compared, and there were extremely significant differences(P<0.01), which exist in median nerve MCV, sural nerve MCV, tibial nerve MCV and the median nerve SCV(P<0.05). There was no significant difference(P>0.05)in ulnar nerve MCV and ulnar nerve SCV, sural nerve SCV. Conclusion:Both Warm acupuncture treatment and mecobalamine can significantly improve TMC clinical symptoms and annerve conduction velocity of DPN patients due to qi deficiency and blood stasis. Warm acupuncture treatment is more effective than the treatment with mecobalamine in nerve MCV, sural nerve MCV, tibial nerve MCV and nerve SCV and as effective in ulnar nerve MCV, ulnar nerve SCV and sural nerve SCV.
