Objective: Comprehensive analysis and discussion are conducted of practical values of three markers(CA19-9, CA-72-4 and CEA) in the auxiliary diagnosis of gastric cancer and the significance of combined detection. Methods: 80 patients with gastric cancer were chosen as research group, who were admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University from October 2014 to October 2015. At the same time, a total of 90 cases of healthy people were chosen as control group from department of gastrointestinal surgery, Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University and health examination center of our hospital. The levels of serum and the positive rate in the study group and the control group were measured by the automatic immune analysis system, and the differences between the two groups were compared. And the data of the study group were classified, comparing the positive rate between I-II and III-IV, high and medium degree of differentiation and low degree of differentiation. Finally, a contrast was made between combined testing of tumour markers and separate testing of tumour markers.Result: 1.Patients with gastric cancer had higher levels of CA19-9, CA-72-4 and CEA than those in the control group(benign STD and healthy people); therefore, in statistical terms there was a significant difference(P<0.001). By the same token, patients from the two groups of gastric cancer had higher levels of positive rates than those in the control group(benign STD and healthy people); therefore, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2. Positive rates of CA19-9, CA-72-4 and CEA among stage I-II gastric cancer patients are higher than those among corresponding stage I-II patients; therefore, there is a statistical difference(P < 0.05). Positive rates of CA19-9, CA-72-4 and CEA in low differentiation are higher than the counterparts in medium and high differentiations; similarly, there is a statistical difference between the two(P < 0.05).3. The sensitivity of separate testing of gastric cancer patients CA19-9,CA-72-4 and CEA was 28.75%, 36.25% and 18.75%, respectively, with CA72-4 having the highest sensitivity. The sensitivity of combined testing of gastric cancer patients CEA, CA19-9 and CA72-4 was as high as 61.25% for all three groups. The difference between joint detection and any single detection is significant(P<0.05) and the joint detection can improve the sensitivity of detection. Conclusion: The levels and positive rates of CA19-9, CA-72-4 and CEA in patients with gastric cancer were higher than those in control group. CA19-9, CA-72-4 and CEA have some auxiliary values for gastric cancer diagnosis. The positive rates of CA19-9, CA-72-4 and CEA were related to the pathological stage and differentiation degree of gastric cancer. Among cancer patients, for the later stage of pathological stage and the lower degree of differentiation, there was a high level of positive rates for tumor markers, which indicated that positive rates were related to pathological staging and degree of differentiation to some extent; among other things, positive rates of carbohydrate antigen CA72-4 were highest, which was better than CA19-9 and CEA. The sensitivity of combined testing of all CA72-4, CA19-9 and CEA was higher than that of separate testing of any of the three. The combined testing, which can elevate sensitivity but reduce specificity in an imperceptible manner, is a necessary choice in clinical work.
