Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of acupuncture therapy in treating postoperative constipation following lumbar surgery.Methods:80 postoperative constipation patients following lumbar surgery who were treated in Our Hospital from December 2015 to December 2016.All patients were randomly divided into 2 groups:treatment group,control group.The treatment group was received acupuncture therapy.The control group was received oral senna leaf.Acupuncture therapy was given one time a day,every time for 30 min,lasted for 3 days.Oral senna leaf was given one time a day,each time was given 3g with 400ml boiling water immersion 15 min,oral time was chosen 2h after breakfast,lasted for three days.Application of statistical methods to compare two groups of patient'S age,gender,lesion of lumbar segment,no significant statistical difference.Before the treatment,24h,48h,1 month after treatment comparing two groups meaning is Patient Assessment of Constipation symptom(PAC-SYM).Overall curative effect evaluation according to the TCM syndrome diagnostic efficacy standards after the treatment.All data were analysed under the SPSS 18.0.Results:1.80 cases with no lost,the gender,age and slippage of lumbar segment have no significant statistical differences between the two groups of comparable(P>0.05).2.Patient Assessment of Constipation symptom(PAC-SYM):Two groups of postoperative constipation following lumbar surgery of PAC-SYM score compared before treatment,no significant statistical difference(P>0.05).Compared of that pre-treatment,the PAC-SYM scores of post-treatment were obviously decreased,the differences had statistical significance in the two groups(P<0.05).24h and 48h after treatment,the PAC-SYM scores had no significant statistical difference(P>0.05).One month after treatment,compared to control group,the PAC-SYM scores of the treatment group's improvement is more significant,the differences had statistical significance in the two groups(P<0.05).3.For the first defecation time and defecation time interval within a month:Compared between the two groups of postoperative constipation following lumbar surgery with the first defecation time,no significant statistical difference(P>0.05).Compared between the two groups of postoperative constipation following lumbar surgery with defecation time interval within a month,the treatment group's time is shorter,the differences had statistical significance in the two groups(P<0.05).4.TCM syndrome diagnostic efficacy standards:Treatment group compared with control group in the TCM syndrome diagnostic efficacy standards.Finally,the total effective rate was 92.5%in the treatment group,the total efficiency rate was 97.5%in the control group,no significant statistical difference(P>0.05).Conclusions:The acupuncture therapy treatment and oral senna leaf treatment all can treat postoperative constipation following lumbar surgery,the acupuncture therapy treatment has better long-term effect in postoperative constipation following lumbar surgery.It was an effective method in treating postoperative constipation following lumbar spondylolisthesis.
