A Study Of The Side Effects And The Curative Effects Of Chemotherapy-induced Constipation By Senna And Liquorice

ObjectiveThe chemotherapy in cancer patients always induce constipate,senna can lighten such symptom effective,but the side effects such as abdominal pain,diarrhea and other adverse reactions caused by senna,combined with liquorice,we will observe whether they can alleviate constipation effectively and reducing less side effects.For the use of senna to provide a clinical basis.Methodssixty patients suffering from constipation after chemotherapy were assigned to Group A and Group B.Group A referred to patients who took senna and liquorice.Group B referred to patients who took senna only.Effective rates of relieving chemotherapy-induced constipation by two groups and the side effect were compared.ResultsThe effective rate of constipation by taking senna and liquorice of A group was 83.3%and that taking senna only of A group was 80.0%,with statistical difference shown(P>0.05).The side effect rate of abdominal pain by taking senna and liquorice of A group was 5,the rate of vomit was 2,the rate of sicchasia was 3,the rate of ventosity was 6.The side effect rate of abdominal pain by taking senna only of B group was 12,the rate of vomit was 8,the rate of sicchasia was 10,the rate of ventosity was 14,with statistical difference shown(P>0.05).ConclusionThe side effects of taking senna and liquorice are lower than taking senna only,and the curative effects are No significant difference between two groups.
