1 ObjectiveThe ascites is one of the common and prominent clinical manifestations of decompensated liver cirrhosis, which has had a seriously impact on the quality of life of the paitents. It is very difficult to solve this problem in clinical treatment.External therapy as a kind of special treatment method in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has the advantages of simple, effective, few side effects and so on.,all of these were widly accepted by people. The purpose of this study is to observe the clinical efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of liver cirrhosis due to blood stasis, and discuss the mechanism of Umbilical Therapy of Traditional Chinese Medicine at same time.2 MethodsAccording to the diagnostic criteria of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine,60 ascites patients were test subjects divided into the treatment group and c ontrol group in random principle, each group contains 30 patients. The control group w as given routine medical treatment, such as hepatoprotectives, diuretics, nutritional sup port, albumin infusion and so on.On the basis of the control group, treatment group inc reased umbilical therapy.Total course of treatment for 14 days. The clinical efficacy,b ody weight, abdominal circumference,24 h urine volume, liver and kidney function,cl otting time, the ascites volume, portal vein width and spleen thickness were observed a nd recorded before and after the treatment.Statistical methods were used to compare th e difference between the two groups, and observe and record the patients with adverse drug reactions at same time.3 ResultsThe treatment group was markedly effective in 11 cases, effective in 14 cases, ineffective in 5 cases, the total effective rate was 83.3%.In the control group,3 cases were markedly effective, effective in 17 cases, ineffective in 10 cases, the total effective rate was 66.7%,the total curative effect of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group. There was no significant difference in liver function, renal function and PT between the two groups before and after treatment(P> 0.05).There were significant differences in abdominal circumference, body weight and 24 h urine volume between the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.01),and the treatment group before and after treatment abdominal circumference, body weight and 24-hour urine output was significantly better than the control group(P<0.05);two groups of patients before and after treatment for ascites index has the difference(P<0.05),the change of ascites indexing differences(P<0.01).There was no significant difference in the diameter of the portal vein and the thickness of the spleen between the two groups before and after the treatment and before and after treatment(P> 0.05);two groups of patients before and after treatment in the the integral of TCM syndrome has a significant sexual difference(P<0.01),compared the differences in the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(P<0.05),and the treatment group before and after treatment of TCM syndrome score and TCM syndrome curative effect is better than that of the control group(P<0.05).The treatment group and the control group had the curative effect on cirrhosis ascites, butcombination therapy is better than pure western medicine treatment. The spe cific advantages of the treatment group were mainly in several aspects, such as reduced abdominal circumference and body weight, increase urine volume, improve the clinica l symptoms, and reduce ascites. So I think umbilical therapy as an adjunctive therapy f or ascites made great achievements,it is hoped that this treatment could be further rese arch and promotion.
