Occupational hazards-related assessment of thermal power industry is mainly about dust, noise, temperature and other factors in China, while there is less evaluation about the chemicalharmful gasessuch as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide in thermal powerplant, and the research on occupational diseases caused by harmful gases are relatively few.In order to control and reduce the occupational hazards of workers in thermal power industry, this research topic selects three subordinate units of China Datang Corporation:Datang Baoji Thermal Power Plant,Datang Binchang Thermal Power Plant and Weihe Thermal Power Plant as studying object.Occupational health survey method and test method were used to evaluate the harmful chemical substances in the air of the workplace, and the concentration parameters of the collected harmful gases were calculated and analyzed according to the occupational health standards, and determine whether the gas concentration of harmful chemical substances meet the requirements in workplace, the occupational hazard prevention measures and the occupational health supervision are appropriate, and put forward suggestions for improvement. From the test results, these thermal power plants will produce ammonia, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and other gaseous toxic substances in the production process. The time-weighted average concentration of several gases is in line with the standard requirements but lower than the occupational health exposure limit. The chemical water treatment part of Baoji Thermal Power Plant has the phenomenon that harmful gases exceed over the standard level for short time.To buffer the acid unloading process and ammonia chemical dosing process, although umbrella cover local exhaust system is built at top of every dosing room, because the dosing process is short and is difficult to control, ammonia exceeded over 14.8%and 58.3%.There was also a short-time exposure to ammonia in the chemical water treatment system of Binchang Power Plant.exceeding over 31.0%.This topic is a specific implementation of occupational health evaluation in the thermal power industry. It provides reference for the selection and improvement of the occupational protection facilities and personal protective equipment in thermal power plants,so as to reduce the occupational hazards and the prevalence of occupational diseases.
