Objective:Pulmonary thromboembolism(PTE)is a common cardiovascular disease from which more and more people are suffering.Given that various factors may be related to the disease, this study mainly focus on the aspects, which are ABO blood type,v WF(von Willebrand factor v WF),blood coagulation factor VIII.The respective relationships between the three factors and pulmonary thromboembolism were also investigated in order to improve the accuracy of pulmonary embolism diagnosis.Methods:1 Study population:(PTE group and control group)1.1 PTE group: 73 patients with pulmonary thromboembolism were included, the diagnosis of acute PTE strictly complied with relative procedure and suggestion built by Chinese experts in 2015.1.2 Normal control group: 146 people without pulmonary embolism were selected as control group.2 Assay itemThree tests including ABO blood type,v WF:Ag and coagulation factor ? for people in the PTE and normal control group were performed and analyzed.3 Specimen collection and assay method:3.1 Specimen collection: Blood samples for ABO blood type test were collected from cubital vein with anticoagulant ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid potassium(EDTA-K2: 3.6mg,2ml).While the samples for v WF and coagulation factor VIII tests were collected from cubital vein using anticoagulant sodium citrate(109mmol/L,1:9).3.2 Assay method: Immunoturbidimetric method was used for quantitative detection of v WF:Ag;Coagulation factor VIII was analyzed via freezing method. The blood type was detected by microcolumn gel cassette assay. Results: 1 Results of blood type analysis for PTE group and control group were as follows: In PTE group, percentage of blood group A was the highest(38.36%),then followed by blood group B(28.77%)and O(19.17%),and the lowest was AB(13.69%).However,the distribution of blood type percentage from the highest to the lowest was type O(38.36%),B(35.62%),A(16.44%)and AB(9.58%)in control group. As we could see that the highest proportion of blood type distribution for PTE and normal control group was blood group A and O respectively, while blood group O and A respectively ranked with third place in the two groups. Therefore, the results indicated that there were significant differences in the distributions of blood type A and O(P<0.05)between PTE and normal control group, but no statistical differences in the other two blood types for the two groups(P>0.05).2 VWF content and coagulation factor ? activities in PTE patients were significantly higher than those in the normal control group. The results demonstrated that there was statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.001)regarding v WF content and coagulation factor VIII activities.3 The results of vWF content and coagulation factor VIII activity among the same blood type:3.1 For all the four blood types,v WF:Ag content of patients in PTE group was significantly higher than that of people in control group with the same blood type, and the difference was significant between the two groups(P<0.05).3.2 The activities of coagulation factor VIII for PTE patients with the three blood types including A,B and O were significantly different from the ones for control group(P<0.05).But there was no significant difference in terms of activities for the two groups with blood type AB(P > 0.05).4 Analysis of v WF: Ag content and coagulation factor VIII activity for either PTE or control group with different blood types.4.1 No statistically significant difference in control group in terms of activity of coagulation factor VIII and v WF content with different blood types(P > 0.05).4.2 There was no statistically significant difference regarding coagulation factor VIII activity for PTE patients with different blood types(P>0.05).While the difference of v WF: Ag content in PTE patients with different blood types was statistically significant(P<0.05).Specifically speaking, content of v WF: Ag in PTE group with blood type O was lower than that of blood group A and B patients, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the comparisons of every two blood types except for the ones above.Among the four blood types, content of v WF: Ag in patients with blood type A was the highest, then was the patients with blood type B,but the difference between the two types was not significant.Conclusions(1)The three factors including ABO blood type,v WF and coagulation factor VIII were closely related to PTE;(2)The risk of PTE was much higher for people with blood type A than people with other blood types;(3)Coagulation factor VIII was an independent risk factor for PTE.While both v WF and blood type together may play an important role for people beings who suffer from PTE;(4)Given the relativities of ABO blood type,vWF and coagulation factor VIII with PTE,the tests of the three markers could be used as auxiliary examination methods to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and benefit people from preventing them from PTE.
