Brucellosis,also known as the Mediterranean remittent fever,Malta fever,or undulant fever,is an infectious-allergic zoonosis caused by Brucella.The brucellosis infection causes systemic damage of each system in human.The prognosis could be good,but joint and spine rigidity,tendon contracture rigidification,etc.could be found in chronic phase.Brucella is divided into 9 kinds basing on different hosts,Brucella growth has high demand on nutrition and high sensitivity on chemical disinfectants.Jilin province is one of the high incidence areas in China,where showed a trend of rapid growth in recent years.This paper studied the morbidity from 2006 to 2015 in Jilin province and analyzed the decade morbidity trend and epidemiological feature and tendency of human brucellosis.Objectives:To describe and analyze the human brucellosis epidemiological features of temporal,regional and population distribution,to understand the incidence in Jilin Province from 2006 to 2015 and predict the brucellosis trend for 2016 to 2018;to provide a scientific basis for prevention and control strategy for Jilin province.Methods:The monitoring data in the paper were selected from infectious disease control management information system of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention;the demographic data was based on the statistical yearbook of Jilin province;the reported brucellosis population confirmed from 2006 to 2015 were considered as the object of study;new detected brucellosis cases number from 2006 to 2015 was considered as case number in the paper.Descriptive epidemiological analysis was used to describe the human brucellosis epidemiological features in Jilin province;weighted arithmetical average was conducted to predict the incidence trend for 2006 to 2018.Data collected by Microsoft EXCEL and analyzed by SPSS18.0 statistical software;thematic maps cartography was made by Map Info.Results:A.Distribution features of brucellosis population from 2006 to 2015 A total of 19449 reported human brucellosis cases in Jilin province from 2006 to 2015,the male was 14714;the female was 4735 with sex ratio of 3.11 to 1.The youngest case was detected as 6 months old and the oldest was 85 years old.Cases aged from 20 to 59 accounted for 88.09%(17 132/19 449);cases aged from 40 to 49 had the highest percentage and accounted for 31.98%(6219/19449).In the aspect of occupational distribution,the peasant accounted for 83.19%(16180/19449),the herdsman for 6.77%(1317/19449)and others accounted for 10.04%(1952/19449).B.temporal distribution features of human brucellosis The incidence rate from 2006 to 2015 was calculated as follows(per hundred thousand): 2.21,3.22,7.84,12.63,10.60,7.51,7.11,7.36,6.58 and 5.90;a rising trend from 2006 to 2009 and declining trend from 2009 to 2015 were found.The incidence rate in 2009 was 12.63 per hundred thousand and the general tendency was increased before decreasing.Case number from January to December was as follows: 1682,1882,2406,2446,2611,2125,1930,1382,843,738,786,618.The numbers detected from March to August accounted for 66.33%(129000/19449).The most number was in May and accounted for 13.42%(2611/19449).C.Regional distribution features of human brucellosis A total of 9 cities(states)except unknown cities had reported human brucellosis cases as follows: Changchun 1.72%(334/19449),Jilin,Siping 5.63%(1093/19449),Liaoyuan 1.73%(336/19449),Tonghua 1.28%(248/19449),Baishan 0.47%(91/19449),Songyuan 34.29%(6661/19449),Baicheng 48.62%(9443/19449)and Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture 1.80%(350/19 449),unknown cities4.46%(867/19449),it mainly distributed in Baicheng and Songyuan.Taonan,Taobei district,Da'an,Zhenlai,Tongyu were 29.55%(2787/9430),18.12%(1709/9430),20.34%(1 919/9 430),10.39%(980/9 430),21.59%(2036/9 430)respectively;Ningjiang district,Qianguo,Changling,Qian' an,Fuyu were 9.18%(611/6 656),24.92%(1659/6656),24.94%(1 660/6 656),22.51%(1 498/6 656),18.45%(1 228/6 656)respectively.D.Incidence rate prediction for 2016 to 2018 Predicted value of incidence rate for 2016 to 2018 were follows(per hundred thousand): 6.64,6.56,6.51 which were calculated by weighted arithmetical average.Conclusion:The male,young adults,farmers and herdsmen were high-risk groups for human brucellosis,the epidemic peak occurred from March to August,Baicheng and Songyuan were believed as high-prevalence areas.The incidence rate appeared to creasing from 2006 to 2009 then decreasing from 2009 to 2015.
