Language is closely connected with culture. Understanding a language you need to know the related culture. In the context of the acceleration of globalization, people gradually have become increasingly interested in the exotic culture and they will be eager to communicate with people from different languages which have enormous differences. Vocabulary is one of the component parts of language and it is more cultural than pronunciation and grammar. Some words have to be able to directly reflect a country's unique culture that is the culture-loaded words. The purpose of learning a foreign language is to intercultural communication well and the mastering of the culture-loaded words directly affects the cross-cultural communication. For example, "feng shui" and "incense", if foreign learners think of them as languages, they cannot properly understand. While for simple Chinese, who can pass without explaining its meaning, but you don't know how to translate it to explain to foreigners. They are a lot of cultural loaded words which have a lot of implications and the rich cultural connotations in both Chinese and English and so that sometimes they cannot communicate with each other. As a result, it is more important that teaching culture- loaded words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. It is not only to clearly explain the basic semantics of the words but also to enhance students' understanding of the culture- added meaning. It is an effective approach to avoid failure in intercultural communication.This article selects the representative cultural loaded words “water”as the research direction. According to Chinese and English authoritative dictionary and large amounts of data and comparative analysis and try to collect the different meanings of “water” in Chinese and English in addition to make a comparative analysis. Through analysis to identify similarities and differences, and give an explanation of the unique imagery of “water” in order to analyze its cultural connotations and causes. It was inspired to try to make some of the culture-loaded words teaching Opinions and it would probably help to improve the ability of cross-cultural communication.
