With the rapid rising of developing countries represented by China, the Australia government would like to seize this opportunity to create more channels for the connections between Australian people and Asian people. Australian government shows the willingness to get an understanding of Asian languages and culture, strengthen the ties with Asian markets through the increase of competence, trade and investment. Australia support regional safety and the growing importance of the roles that Asian countries play in global communities through establishing mutual trust, bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Australian government strives to develop more extensive diplomatic relationships, promote the social and cultural exchanges between two countries. Accordingly, Australian government has carried out the Asia Bound Grants Program. The author worked as the Chinese Language teacher and interpreter for the HUST-UNSW International Study Tour, which was part of the program.This report is based on the Chinese to English consecutive interpreti ng of the lecture ''Construction Projects Tendering and Bidding'' performed by the author. The lecture offered a good chance for the Australian students to get insight into Chinese construction projects. This task was fulfilled under an informal interpreting setting, featuring university students as target audiences, a lecture open for discussions and a colloquial presentation involving a great amount of terminologies. The terminologies and colloquial expressions constitute the biggest challenge for the field interpreting. In spite of the challenges, the interpreter fulfilled her duties and received positive feedback from both sides. Discussion on the processing of terminologies, repetitions, figures of speech and idioms were focused in this report. Detailed analysis was also given with examples in this field interpreting. Many difficulties discussed in this report were shared by student interpreters in their interpreting practices. Accordingly, this is a report with certain value for interpreting students' reference.
