This study through a total of 30 square dance practitioners wear K4b2 cardiopulmonary function instrument to measured square dance energy consumption, to analysis the influence of age and weight on square dance energy consumption, and further explore the square dance energy consumption characteristics and related factors, to find the exercise intensity for middle-aged women exercise square dance. So as to provide scientific monitoring for the mass fitness and fitness evaluation basis, promote the growth of public awareness, fitness habits and health level. The data were analysis by binary fitting and single factor variance, the following conclusions and recommendations:1. The square dance is a suitable for middle-aged and old women exercise of moderate intensity aerobic exercise, the time control between 30 to 50 minutes is suitable for the elderly exercise;2. The elderly group square dance practice sports load and energy consumption to achieve appropriate scale, basic effect is better, a modest increase in the middle-aged group practitioner can through high impact pace and increase upper limb movements, increased energy consumption, to achieve the best effect of exercise;3. Square dancing energy consumption than other correlation between body weight and body shape index in the highest position, but relatively with the increase of body weight and reduce the energy consumption, for this part of the population can be by adding the appropriate resistance training what the literature to support the elderly also need strength training, help to increase its relative energy consumption,weight control at best;4. Heart rate and metabolic equivalent square dance movement intensity and subjective fatigue feeling have higher correlation, subjective fatigue feeling auxiliary monitoring exercise intensity, can timely with monitoring of heart rate and metabolic equivalent, so that more scientific and effective exercise.
