This paper is a project report based on the translation of the academic article Spoken Spanish language development at the high school level: A Mixed? Methods Study, which mainly introduces the mixed methods used to investigate the development of spoken language at the high school level over five consecutive years, and the study shows that18-30% of the difference in student proficiency may be attributed to the teacher variable. As to language teaching, communicative approaches have emphasized the importance of oral proficiency in the process of language acquisition. But it was surprising that the research on oral proficiency is limited, which results in an incomplete understanding of spoken language development. Besides, with the increasingly international academic exchanges and the growing researches on academic achievements, it's highly recommended that this source text(ST) should be translated, because that the studies of academic translation in China are few and far between.Guided by Functionalist Translation Theory and based on the translated text, this translation project report describes,in detail, the whole process of this translation practice from the perspective of three main rules(skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule). And supported by relevant case description, the translation practice report mainly focuses on the problems that arose during the translation process, and attempts to obtain a better translation by choosing Translation Strategies under the Guidance of Skopos theory. This report is divided into four parts: the first part describes the translation task, the second part deals with the translation process(including pre-translation preparation, translation and post-translation quality control), the third part analyses translation cases, and the main translation methods and strategies adopted in the translation practice, and the fourth part summarizes this practice, showing the shortcomings and making suggestions, which are expected to expand and deepen translation research, facilitate translation practice, and improve the qualities of translation and translation teaching.
