As a textbook for children in ancient China, Zeng Guang Xian Wen has been endowed with many characteristics, for instance, the simple and intelligible expressions, the regular sentences, the high rhythm on its use of words; and the extensive range of Chinese traditional culture on its contents. On this consideration, Zeng Guang Xian Wen may meet the requirements of teaching Chinese as a second language, therefore, it is possible to apply it to teaching Chinese as a second language.From the perspective of second language learning, this paper explores the possibility and feasibility of applying Zeng Guang Xian Wen to the teaching Chinese as a second language. The first chapter discusses the background and the significance of this point as well as the introduction of current application and research of enlightenment textbooks using in teaching Chinese as a second language; the second chapter shows the characteristics of the words and contents of Zeng Guang Xian Wen, together with its teaching application. Followed by the opinion of the previous chapter, the third chapter analyzes the adaptability of using Zeng Guang Xian Wen in teaching Chinese as a second language. Based on the teaching practice of applying Zeng Guang Xian Wen to oral Chinese courses, the fourth one draws a conclusion that Zeng Guang Xian Wen can be used in pronunciation, words, reading, writing and culture teaching in teaching Chinese as a second language. The last one puts forwards some drawbacks of this article.
