This is a translation project report on the translation of the second chapter of Youth Character Strengths, Peer Victimization, and Well-Being: Understanding Associations between Positive Traits, Social Experiences, and Positive Psychological Outcomes. This translation project aims to explore the approaches to and generalizations of the translation of social and scientific texts. The source text explores how the character strength of a teenager may help him or her from peer victimization, and gain positive psychological experiences. To have it translated into Chinese can benefit parents and teachers who are frequently confronted with kids who are victimized or mentally unhappy. This report consists of four chapters. The first chapter is a brief introduction to this translation project, including its background, needs, objective and significance.Chapter 2 briefs the biography of the author and the stylistic features of the SL text. The third chapter addresses what guiding translation theory is used and what problems the author has encountered and how they are solved. The translator adopted the skopos theory as the guiding theory and some translation techniques like conversion, division, amplification, omission, and transliteration to solve the problems; and the fourth chapter is a brief summary of the project, pointing out what the author has learnt through this project and what are the problems desiring further investigation.
