The Literary Study Of "Yuan Guanzi"

He Guanzi is one of the remotest ancient books of pre-Qin period which is created by He Guanzi. He Guanzi is a Chu herimit lifed in the Warring States later period. The book is created in the year of about 220 BC. The main idea of the book is Taoist thought, but it also include the compatible thought of Confucianist, legalist school, military commander, yin-yang school and so on. The content of book is extensive and rich, profound and subtle. However, due to the wrong view of He Guanzi, its research always has been on the edge of the state. Although since 1973 the research of He Guanzi entered a new stage and had a turning, and in recent 30 years, academic circles at home and abroad give fully attention to it, the research perspective is growing. But it focus on its philosophical, ideological and some textual research point of view, for literature, failed to give sufficient attention.He Guanzi has distinctive literary style and literary characteristics. Liu Xie set a high value on its literary value. He speak highly of the profound thought, graceful and elegant writing language. At the same time, according to the dilemma and status the present research of He Guanzi faces, and its literary value and influence, the excavation and research of He Guanzi's literature, is of great significance.Therefore, this thesis research He Guanzi from its literariness. This thesis include introduction which can divide into seven chapters. The thesis focuses on the analysis and exposition of its literary characteristics.The first part is in accordance with the timeline of dynasty, made a general review summarized the ancient, modern research situation and reception about He Guanzi.The cause and situation of being identified as Apocrypha and long-term neglect of marginalization of reasons and circumstances also were summarized and analyzed.The second part mainly demonstrates the author,the writing time of the book, how He Guanzi was written and cataloguing. Making a systematic textual research to the author of He Guanzi. For the writing time and the effect of disciples of He Guanzi in the process of the paper writing, I also give a discussion.The third part mainly demonstrates thoughts. In thought, He Guanzi has tendency to fuse the contemporary theory, so I firstly discuss the school of the thought of He Guanzi, and then to demonstrate the view of Dao-Fa, the method of governance and specific matters and main Principle of selection talent.The concept of Dao-Fa is the core of thoughts, three other thoughts is the external performance of the interoperability of Dao-Fa.During the Warring States, argumenting essays prevailed over the others. Therefore,the fourth part mainly demonstrates literary form. The 19 argumenting essays of He Guanzi can bedevided into four types: dialogue, proverbs, fable and special topic. Then demonstrated the specific feature of the form of writing. At the end of the chapter,to the feature of textual structure, I aslo give a brief demonstration.The fifth chapter mainly demonstrates the art of argumentation from two aspects:the skill of argumentation and the style features of argumentation. In general, He Guanzi has many argumentation skills such as hierarchical demonstration,metaphor and causal association. Argumenting essays concentrated idea with seemingly loose structure, logical structure,strict reasoning, great and abundant momentom and continue for ever. Argumenting essays have stong persuasiveness and authority.The sixth chapter is about the demonstration of characteristics of language arts.For the characters of sentence structure, rhyme, verbalism, I make a explicit analysis. Its syntactical structure is of rigorous managenent and parallel prose. He Guanzi specilize in rhymes and couplets, showing a formal aesthetics as well as forth sweet and smooth rhythm sensation; the language style is of great diversity and is in the pursuit of objective and pragmatic rhetoric.The last chapter demonstrates the influnce on later generations of He Guanzi.
