Artistic Characteristics Analysis For Higashino Keigo's ?The Devotion Of Suspect X?

The detective novel originated in Europe and the United States, but got great development in Japan. There were a lot of talented people and numerous genres in Japanese mystery story's world.Edogawa Ranpo,Yokomizo Seishi,Matsumoto Seicyou,Morimura Seiichi,Soji Shimad.on the basis of inheriting predecessors' achievements, all the genre writers rode change of The Times, made efforts on innovation. Born in Japanese where mystery novels are more consideration, Higashino keigo has the opportunity to absorb the achievements from generations of outstanding mystery novelists. And his background in science and engineering gave him the different mode of thinking and creative ability. This made him set up the unique feature in the plotstructure, reasoning technique and language ability.In this paper, I collect the reviews,research results and Monographs on Higashino keigo's literature and film in domestic and foreign scholars,focus on his The Devotion of Suspect X,which won a number of awards. I will sort out and summarize the relevant content of this thesis, such as the change of HigashinoKeigo's writing technique, the analysis of the creative features and the influence from the older generations.And then analyze the characters one by one, try to grasp the ideological connotation, explore the theme,plot, structure and artistic characteristics of this book, dig deep into the unique charm of Higashino Keigo.This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is about the origin of the Japanese mystery novel and the style of Higashino Keigo's works, focusing on the impact of each source on Higashino's novels and the changes of Higashino's creative style in different periods.The second chapter is the analysis for the characters of The Devotion of Suspect X,which aims to grasp the social background and cultural connotation behind the characters. The third chapter discusses the plot and reasoning layout,the linguistic features, and the level of scientific knowledge of this book. The fourth chapter is the conclusion of this paper, the summary of the previous study of Higashino's novels,the summarization for the artistic characteristics of Higashino's novels.
