A Report On The Chinese-English Translation Practice Of Three Medical Papers

Medical papers not only contain the most advanced medical research information,but also function as the bridge of medical exchanges and communication. In addition,medical papers occupy the academic nature of papers and the preciseness nature of medical materials, which makes that medical translation must be more rigorous and more accurate. All these characteristics have been embodied in the translation of these medical papers.Based on the translation practice of three medical theses, “The Application of Evidence-based CNP(Clinical Nursing Path) in Preoperative and Postoperative Care of Pediatric Retroperitoneal Neuroblastoma Surgery”,“Protective Effect of Angelica Sinensis Polysaccharides on Sub-acute Damages of Murine Kidney Induced by D-galactose and Its Mechanism”,“The Aging of the Immune System”,the author refreshes the understanding of medical research, realizes why translation is so significant for medical publication and communication, and finally writes this paper. In this report, firstly, the author analyzes the linguistic features of medical papers, namely the formal, rigorous vocabulary, the elaborate structure and the strict logic. Then, the author explains the reasons for choosing Skopos Theory as the theoretical guidance,introduces the development of Skopos Theory. Then, based on the translation practice,the author chooses the examples and analyzes how to apply the specific translation techniques into the translation of words, phrases and sentences in these medical papers.Finally, the author looks back the entire translation process and expounds the thinking and experience she got during this process, to make a reference to the other translators engaged in medical translation.
