A Report On The Translation Of A Medical Paper Related To Tumor Immunotherapy

With the continuous improvement of social medical level,doctors at home and abroad increasingly pay attention to the defense and treatment of various diseases,and medical advances have emerged one after another.Among them,with oncology and immunology intersecting and infiltrating each other,"tumor immunology",the combination of the two forms,has gradually become a research hotspot in the medical field.Because tumor immunology provides a new entry point for cancer treatment,its theory and technology are constantly developing and improving.China's tumor immunology is at the development stage,and it is urgent to inject more fresh blood into it.The demand of introducing relevant advanced theories and cutting-edge technologies will increase.Translation and introduction of foreign medical papers can help Chinese and western medical staff to exchange valuable experience with each other,and also help domestic medical staff to learn advanced concepts and medical means.Therefore,the translation of medical papers is of great practical value.This thesis will use Skopos theory to refine and summarize translation practice.Translators explore and select translation strategies and translation methods suitable for medical papers,making the translation both professional and readable,theoretical and practical in order to achieve the purpose of translating medical papers.At the same time,through the appropriate translation strategy,the translator ensures that the translation is faithful to the original text and let the reader accept the translation,which can achieve the principle of faithfulness and coherence.Therefore,the translation practice starts from the three principles of Skopos theory(the principle of purpose,the principle of coherence and the principle of loyalty),selects the appropriate translation method,and focuses on the translation techniques of medical text vocabulary and syntax.The translator strives to achieve a faithful and smooth translation,to convey understanding and avoid doubts,and ultimately makes the translation and source text equivalent.This translation practice report mainly consists of five parts.The first chapter is the task description.It gives a brief overview of the source,content and requirements of this translation task.The second chapter is the process description which introduces the translation preparation and plan,and subsequently corrects the proofreading.The third chapter is the theoretical support of this report,and the detailed introduction of Skopos theory and the research status of medical paper translation under the guidance of Skopos theory.The fourth chapter analyzes the project text characteristics and translation skills,in which the translator analyzes the text features from two aspects:lexical features and syntactic features.On the basis of Skopos theory,this paper adopts the method of amplification,omission,division and change the part of speech,the voice and the subject to summarize the translation strategies and skills of the specific content of the text.The fifth chapter is the practice summary,the whole translation process and the experience of this translation practice.The lessons for the translation practice are summarized,and suggestions for the translation of similar medical texts in the future are made.
