| With the increasing number of foreign students education in China, the numbers of Madagascar’s students studying in Chinese universities is also growing rapidly. However, in the process of learning in China, they not only need to learn well, but also need to go through adaptation process of to China’s culture. Obviously, it is not an easy thing to adapt to unfamiliar environment. Someone will be able to adapt in a short time, and someone even after a few years could not adapt.In recent years, and compatriots in the exotic life together, I found that everyone has their own feelings, someone very soon fell in love with China, and plan to stay, but someone every day thinking about returning home, because miss home, every day is very hard, the influence to academic achievement. This is one of the students can not adapt to the phenomenon in the new environment. There are various challenges that have to be faced by Malagasy students studying in China, facing a new language environment, climate change, food habit, education, social customs, and other aspect. These changes may cause various cross-cultural adaptation problems that are worth studying.In this paper,Malagasy students studying in JIANGXI Normal Universities are the object of survey.Survey is conducted through literature study, questionnaire, and face-to face interview with questions on various aspects of life in China.Questions have been set at the following six points;first,whether or not the subject faced cross-cultural communication problems,second,what strategies used to overcome the cross-cultural adaptation problems,third,wether or not the subject understood Chinese culture prior to coming toJIANGXI Normal Universities.fourth, wether or not the subject received Chinese language training and other training prior to coming to JIANGXI Normal Universities,fifth,wether or not the training has helped in overcoming the cross-cultural communication problems,sixth,what trainings are recommended to new students going to JIANGXI Normal Universities.Through these questions,analysis is conducted to understand cross-cultural adaptation of Malagasy students studying in JIANGXI Normal Universities. Various suggestions and countermeasures will also be provided at the end of this paper. |
