Psychological harmony is a kind of psychological state or personality traits of balance, coordination, moderation, peace and in the aspects of knowledge, motion and consciousness, when the individual proactively handles all kinds relationships to establish good rapports with internal self, nature and others. Psychological harmony is an important manifestation of individual mental health, and it is also an important predictor for happiness.In this study, questionnaires to 526 undergraduate students of a provincial normal university were applied to study the factors influencing the psychological harmony of the university students and their mechanisms. Perceived social support, self-esteem,pressure life events and psychological harmony state of the university students and the interaction relationship between them were analyzed, using SPSS18.0 for data processing, through descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, correlation analysis,regression analysis, mediation and regulation effect and other statistical methods. The mainly results are as follows.(1) Perceived social support positively correlates with psychological harmony, it means that individuals with high score of perceived social support would reach relatively high level in psychological harmony.(2) Self-esteem positively correlates with psychological harmony. The people with higher level of self-esteem could get higher level in psychological harmony.(3) Pressure life events negatively correlates with psychological harmony. The individuals experiencing more pressure life events would feel lower in psychological harmony level.(4) Perceived social support affects psychological harmony through self-esteem, it means that self-esteem plays an intermediary role in the process of perceived social support acting on psychological harmony.(5) Psychological harmony is influenced by stress life events in understanding social support, regulating role during the second half of the process.The conclusion: The individual with high level of perceived social support tend to possess high level of self-esteem, which promotes him/her to reach higher level of psychological harmony. When the individual experiences relatively more pressure life events, self-esteem influences psychological harmony more obviously. This conclusion provides a solid theoretical and empirical support to improve the psychological harmony level of the university students.
