With the widely spread of the Reform and Opening Up policy, China and the rest of the world are interacting closely. Thus, the importance of publicity translation is highlighted. City Publicity, a brief introduction of the city, makes the city well known by other countries and attracts more foreign investments. Based on the ecological construction of Hunan province, Green Hunan hopes to emphasize the significance of forestry by introducing the development process of its forestry industry. Through the promotion of the publicity material Green Hunan, the author wishes to arouse the public's attention of environmental protection, meanwhile make the public realize the significance of forest resources. In this way, through joint efforts, a better ecological cultural environment and a better society is built. Applying Green Hunan as example, the author explains detailed translation methods from lexical, syntactic and textual level, and analyzes how to achieve preferable translation effect under the background of cultural differences between the east and the west. This translation practice report is designed to deepen the understanding of language features in foreign publicity materials, and further discuss its translation strategies, therefore improve the readability of publicity translation.This practice report is divided into four parts. The first part is task description, which mainly states the task background, introduction and significance of this task. The second part is the presentation of task process, including preparation before the task, the procedure of the task and the conclusions from the task. The third part is combined with the translation of partial content of Green Hunan, analyzing the translation cases from lexical, syntactic and textual level, finally using some examples to find out how to deal with cultural differences in the process of Chinese to English translation. Among them, proper noun, cultural-loaded words and semantic extension are mainly analyzed from lexical level; long and difficult sentences, non-subject sentences and passive voice are primarily analyzed from syntactic level; discourse cohesion, conjunction and reference are mainly analyzed from textual level, and next, the impact of cultural differences on translation as well as its translation methods is explained through examples. The fourth part is the conclusion, including the unsolved problems during this practice and expectations for the future work.This practice report intends to enhance the understanding of relevant translation practice, and provide references for relative translation activities. At the same time, this translation practice wants to make a majority of experts and scholars realize that the translation of publicity is an indispensable translation research field which needs to be strengthened urgently.
