After China entered WTO, with its rapid economic development, China's comprehensive national strength and international influence significantly improved. And it encourages frequent cultural exchanges between China and other countries, so more and more foreigners learn Chinese, and it causes the phenomenon of "Mandarin fever". But because of the cultural differences between different countries, when it is in the process of learning Chinese, foreign learners will be confused for lack of sense of Chinese and the most basic Chinese background knowledge. Therefore, we need a more appropriate learning tool to help them learn Chinese better. And the dictionary can just provide them information of words, and it can effectively promote their communication of using target language. So dictionaries play an important role for foreign learners. But because there is not enough in-depth research on Chinese Learner's Dictionary, and it does not involve many aspects, so it makes Chinese Learner's Dictionary unsatisfactory in terms of interpretation. But as English Learner's Dictionaries have rich experience of compiling, occupying the high status in learners at the same time, and they also withstand the test of the market, so choosing to study English Learner's Dictionary has great significance.Therefore, we learn from the concept and experience of the interpretation of 200 core words in the authoritative English learner's dictionary "Macmillan English Dictionary for Advanced Learners " to pay attention to discuss the way and structure of definition of Chinese Learner's Dictionary, and illustrate some examples of unique features of "Macmillan English Dictionary for Advanced Learners " in detail in setting up the columns of words' collocation, academic writing, vocabulary's extension, metaphor and "menu". Finally, we summarize the current overall situation of definition of Chinese Learner's Dictionary, and we find out its shortcomings, so we put forward rational suggestions for the issue of definition of Chinese learner's dictionary.This essay can be divided into five sections:The first chapter: the introduction. It includes object, current research studies, reason of selecting this topic, purpose and significance of research, theory and methods of research and other issues.The second chapter: we analyze the structure of definition of English learner's dictionary from three aspects: morphology(including voice, spelling, inflection, and affix combinations), structure of distribution(including collocations of structure, restrictions of selecting and syntactic pattern), and the concept of structure(the expression of conceptual meaning, additional meaning and information of indicator).The third chapter: we respectively extract the basic definition mode, belonging to 200 core words from three parts: grammatical information, semantic information and pragmatic information.The fourth chapter: this chapter summarizes the current overall situation of definition of Chinese Learner's Dictionary, and referring to the interpretation mode of "Macmillan English Dictionary for Advanced Learners", we try to build Multidimensional interpretation mode of Chinese learner's dictionary.The fifth chapter: conclusion.
